When buying OEM spoilers, it comes with new springs (torsion bar) to help lift the additional weight.
Aftermarket does not. This spoiler is about 2lbs. The trunk still pops up when opening. And closing it requires almost no effort. The natural (additional) weight will closed it.
I now make an effort to remember NOT to slam the trunk lid. I've been conditioned over the years to do so, on all trunks.
However, I recall reading here that there are weights in our trunk.
Does anyone know where it is? Or try to remove them? Did it change the characteristics during opening and closing? Is it that black thing that looks like a thin candy bar? Which one? How do you remove it?
