Went to the track last night, Best time i could get was a 14.4. My r/t was .310. 60ft was 2.300. Had some wheel hop, never launched the car before. Probably could get 14 flat with perfect launch.

tell me more, what rpm did you drop the clutch at? were you in slicks? did you do a burn out before you launched? traction control on or off? i need more detail so when i go im prepared =D
when im launching i find that reving at like ~3-3.5k is prob. the best b/c i dont get that much wheel hop and i turn my traction control off... let me know what you did by pming me

oh yea, i would say that is pretty bad cause the 7th gen accord coupe v6 does 0-60 in 5.9 and 1/4 mile in 14.5
and seeing that you have more hp and tq along with more mods than the prevous gen stock, i would say you messed up somewhere

or because our cars are a lot bigger and heavier than the 7th gens.

its about ~150lbs heavier, im sure the mods and the bigger engine with the higher amount of hp and tq can do much better,

r/t = reaction time, doesn't factor in to your 1/4 mile time. What was your 0-60ft time?

If you could get your 0-60ft down to a 1.9x I bet you would be in the 13's. Getting that 0-60ft time down is easier said than done.

yea i know. If i didnt have wheel hop, im sure id be around 14 flat. Tires were to spec. didnt let air out.

Spatel, you need to chill dude. You want the truth, you, like me and like everyone else here with a 6-6 drives a fat, front wheel drive cow with copious amounst of wheel hop. I know you are a new owner and you think the world of the car, but trust me, that feeling wears off. Truth be told, a good driver in a new GTI will probably destroy you, me or anyone of us in a stop light scenario. On a 1/4 mile track, we'll make it back, but in an 1/8 of a mile scenario, we're toast. This car isn't great at taking off, its true potential is visible when you are in 2nd/3rd/4th gear on the highway, but if you are doing those kind of stunts, i would sure hope you get pulled over.

As for Coupe Nasty, it's awesome that you took your car to the track. I hope it was fun. How much does it cost?

Good time for your first! Are you going back to the track any time soon?? You should try to deflate your tires to around 28psi, I tried it and it reduced the wheel hop a bit. If you're going lower than 28psi, your TPMS sensors will light up and you won't be able to turn off your VSA. Did you set your dampers stiffer? I'm sure it would help too.

I usually launch around 1500-1800rpm to reduce the wheel hop because over 2500rpm I clearly saw a lost of traction during that bad effect...

And you got those times from where? If you got them from a magazine those times are corrected for air temp/humidity and elevation, among other things. Sure they can be duplicated/bested but not usually by an "inexperienced" driver / persons first time in their car.

thanks for the positive feedback guys, i know 14.4 isnt great. It sure wasnt what i was hoping for but im not super upset with it. Hoping to go back after I choose an intake and also deflate the tires some to help with wheel hop. :thmsup:
