Took my Accord to get an alignment and quick inspection, and the service advisor came back with a strong recommendation to replace both rear wheel bearings. Now, I've been going to this shop for a long, long time, and one of the things that keeps me coming back is that they do good work and also never recommend unnecessary services. Still, I was a little skeptical, but they've earned my trust enough that I told them to go ahead and do it. The suspension is mostly factory original, and I live in the snow/salt belt, so stuff happens.

Picked the car up, and was surprised at how quiet the car is now. I hadn't realized how noisy the bearings had gotten (the service advisor asked if I hadn't found the bearing noise annoying on the highway). Too many years playing guitar right in front of my amp, I guess.

Anyway, left and right rear bearings, and an alignment.

Onward!

Rad support definitely needs replaced because the latch is about an inch pushed back. Going to need a new headlight as most of those plastic parts took damage.

Got these nifty JDM things on eBay.. :ROFLMAO:

Looks sharp. Makes it look almost like a new car. I see the icon on the screen showing the battery is almost empty. Is that for the screen or your phone?
That's part of Apple Carplay, it shows the phone battery level. The display is obviously powered by the vehicle.

That's what I figured, but I thought I'd double check. That's a nice system. And you get to retain the original info screen down below by the gear shifter.
Actually, the entire factory radio setup is left intact. So you could listen to the stock radio through the bottom display if you wanted. The Android unit taps in through the AUX part of the radio. So if you switch the factory radio to AUX, you get audio through the Android unit.

You do lose the little top part of the center pocket where the screen is now, but you have to compromise somewhere. And they do still give you the little pocket below it.

This is a really tempting setup. Just don't know if it's $250 tempting, especially with the mixed bag of results I've seen from this in terms of quality.

Yes, it looks like it's a current-day OEM set-up. And certainly much better looking that the other type of kits (shown below). Those just scream cheap. The only positive being that you can put in a very reliable name brand single or dual din unit and know it will work. Like you said, the reliability of these Android units is hot or miss. Considering the number of Accords sold, I'm surprised it's not considered a worthwhile market for a reputable company (Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, etc) to manufacture a similar set-up.

That version loses the CD deck - a no-deal for me.

Was the bottom display always down there, or was it transplanted after the infotainment unit was installed on top?

It's a transplant (the piece to transplant it into comes with the unit). Normally it looks like this:

And the screen is pretty low. I want these mainly for Android Auto, and having the screen for it be that low defeats the purpose.

Replaced license plate lights—both sides were out. Surprised we weren’t pulled over. Replaced with these

When removing the carpet liner I found a weight towards the front that didn’t seem to do anything. However, upon removal the trunk lid now pops open 6 or so inches as before it maybe popped an inch. Anyone know what this was for? TIA

Edit: Never mind. I did a search and found the answer.

I installed a trunk organizer. Sounds silly maybe, but I carry around engine oil, a jump starter, washer fluid, tools, a first aid kit, battery cables, a flashlight, a jack and spare parts. Instead of rattling around loose, they're in one place if or when needed.

There is certainly enough space inside our 16-17cubic ft. trunks!

How about a 12v tire pump?

I'd leave home without AMEX, but never without a tire inflator.
