Just out of curiosity, how often did you bleed the brake fluids and replaced with new fluid.
Maybe about once every ~3 years according to my records. Does this impact the ABS module lifespan?

That's pretty good.

I just have a theory that the ABS module fails from internal corrosion /damage from brake fluid that never gets changed.

Talking about a bad day. Crashed a really expensive CNC at work, came home early since couldn't do the job without the end mill I destroyed. Decided to check valve clearance. Find 1 and 2 pitted on the exhaust cam. The valve clearance is still good though, even after 214K.

For whatever reason camshaft pitting is quite common during this era, though more on the J series than the K series.

That's what it looks like. Seen some complaints on older K24A too.

I'm just gonna keep on driving on it for the time being. The car isn't acting weird or anything, nothing weird on the datalog. Gonna try to find a good junkyard cam.

You should be fine, I know people who have driven on pitted cams for years. I've also seen people look at several vehicles trying to find a good camshaft before they found one that wasn't pitted.

new wheels + installed some of the mudflap guard thing, kind of hard to see in this photo since its at night (pt number 08P00-TE0-100). I think it makes it look just a bit more sporty.

On the side of problems though, I think my passenger seat underneath is rattling. Anytime I hit a bump I hear the rattle, any ideas on a fix or if this is a common issue? Just kind of annoying driving.

At last, I dropped it off today. He told me they should have it done either by Friday or the following Monday. I'm hoping it's the former, else the headunit install will have to wait. Until then, Victus is in good hands.

V6 ownership is a privilege that does not come cheap. The grand total is somewhere around $2k for all that work.
While they were doing the timing belt work, apparently they found that the serpentine belt tensioner bearing was worn and making noise.

Guess how much an OEM replacement costs? A smooth $433. So I went ahead and told them to use an aftermarket. It should be fine, and it's not a critical component like the timing belt tensioner. Plus my mechanic has built a pretty good reputation for finding quality aftermarket parts. My Odyssey has an aftermarket CV axle, A/C compressor, and A/C condenser, all parts where OEM or at least Denso is strongly recommended, and none of them have given me any problems.

Could also be a noise coming from under the car. Plenty of things down there to possibly rattle.

I had thought I had a rattle coming from the seat - after investigation, turned out it was the passenger window run channel (fixed, rattle gone). Exhaust heat shield could also be a suspect, especially if you’re living in the snow/salt/rust belt.

I checked it out this morning and turns out there are two springs underneath the passenger seat, not sure what their usage is. I put microfiber cloth around them and for what it seems now the rattling/metal ringing is gone. Again not sure their purpose, I tired to find the part through the seat diagram but couldn't figure it out

Headlight touch-up. De-pooped both paint and windows. Ah, spring...

But most importantly, oil check!

I picked Victus back up from the shop this afternoon, new timing belt and all. I was a little annoyed that the tech wrote the oil capacity on the engine cover that I had just cleaned, so now I'll have to do it again.

Grand total? Around $2300. Like I said before, if there's one thing V6 ownership isn't, it's cheap.

It drives great, though. They also flushed the PS fluid and brake fluid. I wasn't on the highway for too long but the slight vibrations I had before seemed to be gone with the tire rotation and balance.

Unfortunately, some birds decided to leave their stuff on the hood and trunk lid, so I have some cleanup to do.

Also, my headunit order was "delayed in transit", so I'll have to wait and see on that. Hopefully it gets delivered tomorrow.

Man, I know it's not 8th Gen related ... but that had to be a lot of dollar signs.

Well, I spent pretty much the entire afternoon getting the headunit installed.

Went from this, the stock radio we all know:

To this, a sleek little Android display:

The glare looks a lot worse in photos than it does in person.

Android Auto works great too:

The install took me around 4 hours. A lot of that time was spent on stubborn connectors and unclipping stuff, though. I did break one of the clips that holds in the radio unit itself, which sucks, but the rest hold it in just fine.

Doing this really makes you appreciate Honda's engineering. I spent a lot of time fighting to get the top lip of the radio to slot into the slots in the new display bracket just because the fit wasn't quite as perfect as the stock display bezel.

So far, the only issue I've noticed is there's a brief pop when you turn the ignition on and the display activates, and a less noticeable pop when you turn it off. I can live with it though.

The one thing I don't like is in the new center pocket with the display that replaces the factory center pocket, it only gets the bottom two screws, there's no way to get the top 2 screws in, meaning the top stays a bit loose.

All in all, I'm happy to have Android Auto and the ability to play music over Bluetooth.

Looks good! And it actually looks factory, as opposed to the other kits out there that just look awkward.

And with the added bonus of the factory radio remaining completely intact.

Really nice !! Not sure if they're on with yours, but in my headunit system setting there is an option to turn on some white lights for the volume control, etc, on the left side. Might have been like a headlight or backlight option in there that did it. I aswell broke like two clips that held the radio, but no issues yet. FWIW mine does not do that Pop.

It's in such a weird location which is why I never pursued that type of double din stereos, along with the metra kit. I think it would feel weird looking that down for carplay.
