Searched online for how to deal with the movement of the stock shift boot after switching out the stock shift knob with an aftermarket one, but there are a lot of answers out there for many different Honda's with many different boots/clips.

I was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with the 2013/2014 Accord Sedan MT shift boots in particular? The knob I got is sphere shaped and sits a tad bit lower than stock, just low enough to clash with the plastic bit during shifts. Looks nice in neutral though.

I've heard of zip-tieing and electrical taping, but looking at the shaft/boot/knob, I can't picture what exactly I would tying or taping. Also hard to imagine where a rubber washer would fit in this equation.

I prefer a way that won't force me to pop the center console or modify any part of the boot (e.g., cut off the plastic part).

Thanks for the help.
