I just bought a valentine 1 radar detector and want to hardwire it but where to tap into a power source, really don't want to go to the battery. Any suggestions? Was thinking cigarette lighter tap since I never use it. Also is it hard to get wires past the "a" pillars?

Thea pillars are easy to take off and you can slip the wires right by. I have the side air curtain system so all i had to do was take a small screw driver and pry it up by the sides. Be careful of the cloth, jack up the plastic piece since it is only 4 bucks.

I am in the process of adding a DICE i-honda-r4 and my sirius starmate into my new accord and I was looking to power the sirius with a hidden plug like you've done. I am curious though; Once the power to the external plug is tapped, will I still able to use the external socket to power a device at the same time as my sirius unit?
