Going through the HID sticky we have in this forums is like armageddon. And for whatever reason "HID" yields no results in the thread. So any input would be appreciated.

Anyway, I just got a v6 coupe and would love a set of HID's (thinking 4300K). What set is everyone using (is there consensus) and does this set require removing the bumper?

At first blush it would appear that DDM Tuning has the most popular kit?

from buying two diff website kits, it looks as if they are all chinese and the same - The DDM kit I have is good quality...and they answer their phone & speak english- all I need..
I vote DDM as well. I thought about getting the morimoto minis from theretrofitsource.com, but the price difference and reviews were enough to deter me. DDM only cost me $30 and their support has been excellent so far. I have only read of a few people who have had problems with DDM kits, but those people who did have problems said they had no problem with customer support, or getting their money back. Hope this helps!

I have Xentec brand – cheap stuff, only $30 too. Seems fine to me, but I probably wouldn't know the difference anyways.

I have 5000k for the low beams and 3000k for the fog lights. The fog lights have a slight greenish tint (which look nice), but I wanted a purer yellow color so that was a little disappointing.

Everyone has had these for years.....installed correctly, they are good for 2000 hours....do you really think we all would adapt something that was tenuous or iffy?

Some would , but not the gen masses that use them.....they are just a type of bulb change....

Could these do any damage to the projectors? Or wiring? Anyone have these for a long term on another vehicle?
I've used aftermarket HID's on a previous car and the kit lasted me for the three years I kept the car. I sold the car so I don't know how much longer the kit lasted after selling.

It was a pain in the butt to install to be honest because I had to move the bumper. I get nervous when I have to remove a car's body panels believe it or not. Knowing me, I'd scratch/scuff the paint or would not be able to align the panels back perfectly again. Otherwise, I don't doing mods.

EDIT: BTW, the EX-L V6 coupe uses an H11 bulb? I don't have the car or the manual yet. It will be ready this Monday or Tuesday. And I've read people are using a 35 Watt kit over the 55 watt? Any reason or concern behind the decisioning?

With hid kit just about any brand is Chinese. No matter what label it has on it it still is., Chinese. The trick is finding a balance between cost and quality. U can find expensive low quality kits and vice versa. So do your homework online about hid before you spend anything.

DDM is a hit or miss in terms of quality but only cost $30. I have 1 set, slim, running on my 2010 Insight for 3 years now though I wish the bulb color was 4300k and starts up faster. I bought the 4500k and I personally prefer OEM white instead of the "4500k" which is most likely "5000k"

So what is the best "oem" color you suggest ordering from them?

I love the perfomance of my 6k miromoto. Sure it is more expensive but i got 30% off so it was 99$ for 35w . Startup is literally max 2-3sec. Perfect cutoff and great service from the theretrofitsource.com . 5k is closer to oem color

cant beat output and quality of morimotos in my opnion. +1 for morimotos

i've bought over 10 kits, for friends and family, off www.madeinchina.com. yea it takes almost a month to ship here in Canada, but for $30 a kit, i'm ok. I think ebay has some too for $30. Honestly, they're all the same if you buy anything less than $100. There's only 3 major manufacturer in China that makes these stuff, and they of course label them differently for whoever the clients are.

Theretrofitsource.com best quality kits u can buy hands down. A bit on the pricey side but well worth the extra money I've installed about 4 sets in various vehicles. I haven't got them on my accord yet because I may just bite the bullet on the LED touring headlight upgrade
