HID KITS - AUTOMOTIVE LED BULBS - FLOOR MATS & LINERS - CAR COVERS - SEAT COVERS

The www.XenonDepot.com commitment to product quality - Proudly serving the automotive industry since 2001:

HID bulbs and ballasts are not created equally. Our HID lighting products use OEM grade HID bulbs and ballasts to
ensure the quality and durability of our product. Our HID kits are assembled in high tech ISO and TUV certified facilities.
Poor quality HID kits can have failure rates of around 10% right out of the box and potentially last only 1-2 months.
Our HID kits have a failure rate of approximately 0.05% (based on 8 years of selling HID lighting products). Beware of
merchants selling low grade HID lighting products that can be a potential fire hazard to your vehicle. Do not
compromise your safety when it comes to automotive lighting.

plus they are weather resistant. that makes me want to take a look at mine before it pours out. i'd imagine tho, that tucked away under the bumper (as i removed my bumper and installed the ballasts where everyone does behind the bumper) they should be shielded from the elements. bumper surrounds most sides, wheel well rubber and under bumper piece complete it. am i correct to assume this?

clewttu- Our products are still going to be more expensive than your standard ebay special.

With so many types of HID kits on the market today and prices ranging from $40 and up you really need to be careful what you are installing in your brand new vehicle. You are driving a brand new car (with warranty) so you really have to be careful when it comes to installing high voltage electronics in it. While you may be thrilled that you only had to pay $50 for an HID kit initially, that thrill will quickly go away if the ballast ends up damaging your vehicle's harness, smoking your headlights, or worse. Headlamp housing replacements alone are $300+. Let's not talk about how much it would cost to fix the headlight wiring if that was to fry. There are alot of companies selling HID components these days. The problem is that suppliers are trying to make them cheaper than the next supplier. As a result, quality, durability, and saftey issues are undermined. I am not saying that we have never had an issues with any of our products. The difference is that we will actually be there should you require any sort of after sales service/support. Furthermore, our kits have been profesionally assembled in ISO and TUV certified facilites. Product quality has and never will be compromised to reduce costs.

A warranty is only good as long as the company that you purchased the product from stays in business. Unfortunately over the years we have seen many vendors go in and out of business along with the so called "lifetime" warranties that they promised their customers. Puchasing online is a completely different ball game then purchasing from a brick and mortar store. You can't exactly drive back to a website to demand a refund or exchange for a product that you have purchased. In fact, you will find many people that will tell you the classic story of how they ordered a product online. Initially, the vendor was great and responsive to emails. However, once they received the product and required any sort of after sales service or support the vendor simply was not there.

The Xtreme kits that we sell use Japanese bulbs and ballasts. The ballasts that we use are epoxy sealed as they are specifically designed for aftermarket HID applications. The kits that we sell also come with wiring harnesses that will power the ballasts directly from the battery (as opposed to from the OEM headlight wiring). The kits that we sell are manufactured in a high tech ISO certified facitlity that is also TUV approved. The ballasts that we use are both E4 and CE certified. Our products come with a one year warranty that is covered by us. We have been selling HID lighting products since 2001 so we will be here should you require any after sales service/support.

Hope this helps,

Steve

In the 7 years that we have been selling HID conversion kits we have yet to have that happen. We use OEM grade components in our HID conversion kit as we do not want you to run the risk of damaging your vehicle in any way.

clewttu - no problem.

HID bulbs do not burn significantly hotter than halogen bulbs as they only operate on 35W. HID's do draw significantly more power upon startup then standard halogen bulbs though which is why we include a proper relay harness with our kits.

Just wondering. How important are the 'Nylon Nitrile dipped gloves' for installation. When i installed mine, i was careful not to touch the bulb...but still cant help to wonder the purpose for these...

I think these help you when you want to adjust your beam, considering that you would want to do them when the headlights are on. Heatprotective maybe?

hmm my kit cost 40 bucks less and the quality was great if u ask me ....my ballasts are under the hood and not in the bumper area so water shouldnt be an issue if you arent lazy and run the wires to a better area ...and good luck installing these lights on an 08 coupe with those gloves...the entire install is by feel and u wont be having any sort of idea with those things on

So I have a question?

I bought a couple kits from xenondepot a while back, but when I bought them, the Philips kits were still available. What happened to those?

Hi alpha,

We phased that product line out over a year ago. Philips ballasts are great for OEM HID applications however they are also designed for OEM HID applications. In OEM HID applications the ballasts are usually encased within the headlight protecting them from water damage. In aftermarket HID applications the ballast is usually mounted outside the headlight where it is susceptible to water and moisture. As a result, we found that the Xtreme ballasts were outperforming the Philips ballasts as they are specifically designed for aftermarket applications.

Regards,

Steve

I thought HID was low voltage and used less power than regular halogens??
