A buddy and I put in the following a short while ago. The whole thing took about 25 hours (with breaks) over a period of 4 days.

JL C5-650 components in front
JL C5-650x coaxials in rear
JL Slash 300/4v2 amp
Infinity 10" Basslink
JL CleanSweep
MTX Re-Q
Dynamat Xtreme on floor, doors, rear deck and under back seat

There are many more pictures here and they all link to a larger version.

We started off by stripping the interior of the car:

Then we jumped right into laying down the Dynamat .. here is the passenger's-side floor:

Even though I didn't tune it or calibrate the CleanSweep or Re-Q yet it still sounds amazing. My friend played some lossless music and it blew me away. I never thought I could tell the difference between lossless and 312kbps mp3, but this was a total eye-opener.

Thanks to Jamie I realized that the Accord's head unit puts out full-range signals so I don't need the CL-SSI unit. Jamie also told me it's better to grab inputs for the CleanSweep right out of the head unit, before the stock amp. So over the next few weeks I'll be rewiring all that and removing the CL-SSI.

Also in the plan are Dynamatting the trunk, a bit more under the rear deck (from the trunk-side of it) and the rear quarter panels.

One 'problem' I have is that I mounted the volume knob for the CleanSweep up front next to the shifter. So I'm going to keep the head unit volume level at 30 and calibrate the CS for that. But that means the bass is always going to be at the same gain.

Can anyone think of a suggestion for the best way to get around this? I was thinking of using the BassLink's remote knob to control it. Does this make sense? Leave the head unit at 30 volume and 0 (C) bass gain. Turn the remote knob to its center position and set the gain on the sub to whatever I think is loud enough for normal listening .. then I can use the knob to raise or lower the gain as I like?

I may also re-mount the BassLink so it lies horizontally. Let me know what you think!

good job on the dynamat but not too impress w/ the system install...u really didnt need all that dynamat unless you're getting rid of road noise as well. and crossovers are usually hidden behind door panels or trunk panels unless you have a couple of them fiberglass in a custom enclosure

Since the Basslink is only 200 watts I don't believe you will need a remote volume control for it at all. Once it is tuned hook it up to work in sync with the Clean Sweep volume control.

I'm basing (pun intended:wave:) this on my experience with the 200 watt 10" bazooka. I paid extra for the remote volume/crossover and never once used it. If you were dealing with a 500 or 1000 watt amp for bass then you would positively need the remote volume/crossover knob.

For control of the sub, I'll be using the Peripheral RCA Attenuator (PRC1). Its like 15 bucks and you just put it in line with the RCA's to the sub amp.
That's a good idea, I'll look into that. Which level would you have the attenuator at when you set the sub gain?

Yup that's what I was going for. It definitely reduced the road noise but the wind noise is still there. I'll have to look into modifying the door seals to help with that. I went to town with the dynamat because once I heard the difference it makes when you tap the panel it got very addictive and I wanted to pit it everywhere:lmao:

I like the crossovers there, I think they look pretty clean. What else would you have done differently?

How would I hook it up to the cleansweep?

Nice work, i wish i had the technical aptitude to do work like this myself.

I am surprised how small that basslink is, i would think a sealed 10 would need more space.

how can we do that??? every day i think of how to get rid of this bloody wind noise, its is unbearable after 60 or 70. Very sensitive ears i think.

Great looking system and install, as for the wind noise bump that system loud enough and you wont hear it at all haha

There was a hole there I don't know if the guys that installed the viper system put the hole there but when I looked it was right there and that's were they ran the wires threw. Its a tad higher than the engine and there could be a grommet there I don't know. But I am glad you guys like the install. Sorry to hijack your thread nick but if anyone needs any help with installs. Just let me know aim is reimermatt.

holy crap alot of work for something so simple ....well at least it looks simple..obviously not hah...so where are those door handles

Yup the form factor is the main reason I got the Basslink. It still hits pretty good though, at least enough for my tastes.

Buried somewhere in this forum is a tip I read where you take foam rods or dowels and stick them into the weatherstripping around your doors. It's supposed to make a tighter seal between the door and the body to keep noise out. IIRC one of the mods mentioned this a while ago.

:lmao: It's been bumped plenty loud, I fear for my sense of hearing

Buddy i don't know since I paid a pro shop to do it. Perhaps they tapped into the rear speakers?????? Your friend should know, he seems quite knowledgeable.
Rick can you give me the name of that shop so I can call up and ask them?

Yeah laying the Dynamat took up a majority of the time .. but it's very gratifying in the end

Nice Job Kopi..... Looks good and im sure it sounds Phenominal... Just not feeling the whole external Volume issue on the CS.. My LC6 doesnt have it My Imprint does but after its tuned, I dont have to ever touch it... so It leaves me full Volume control for audio, Bluetooth, navi, and everything at the radio...

TEMPORARY HIJACK:
BTW If anyone here has the IPOD Adapter that harnesses to the oem Head deck AND You have OEM NAVI & Bluetooth... Look for a thread Im about to create over the next day... I got my Ipod on Voice command/ control..... utilizing the Voice Act. XM Functions.... :)

Now Back to our Regularly Scheduled Programming!!!

oh yeah the door handles, sorry about that .. I thought about it and I decided to keep the silver ones .. the chrome on silver look grew on me. You can pick them up from any parts website for about $8 each though
