15 years guys, damn! She's still rolling. I live literally across the street from the job so my mileage is very light. It's really been a blessing that the car is so reliable because buying a new one would have made things financially tougher over the past few years. I'm hoping that in about two years a new car will be a realistic option but until then, Happy Birthday to the best car I've ever owned.

Does your car have a name?

Take good care of it and it will easily go another 10 years minimum. And keep saving up your money for that day when you want a new one.

Congrats on your fifteen year car-anniversary!

Hmmm… something tells me your car could continue on to at least 200,000 miles…

The only thing I hate about my '11 Accord coupe is the fuel economy and that's because my other car is a CT200h (hybrid) and we drive a considerable distance to our offices.

Can't wait for Honda to get those EV plants up and running. A BEV with SH-AWD at a reasonable price point will be heaven sent and I'm not going for one until my Accord becomes a money pit, which is probably another in another 10 years lol.

OP we are at an unusual point in time.

Honda's 1.5T engine Accords are xxxx. There are many reports of head gasket failures from under 100k miles upwards. (Bell curve effect here and yes some will last much longer). Even French cars can do better than that!

There's a disassembly video on youtube for the 1.5T engine showing its design flaws for those that are interested.

Sorry but new Accords have become like BMWs, you sell them at 60k miles and move on. OK for some but not me. With EPA regs (and small CC direct injection turbos) there is no way this gets better for ICE vehicles.

Honda Accords peaked at Gen 8/9, depending on your tastes. A golden era is over.

The EV front is probably no brighter either. Honda are probably 10 to 15 years behind Tesla. And even Tesla today are not where I would personally buy one today but advances in battery tech may change that,

With the ICE age over & EVs are not ready for prime time I'm keeping our older fleet going for as long as possible. Being in the South rust is not a problem.

I didn't say there was, but he says it like Dark Shark has a super super high mile vehicle and his is normal.

Isabella is 15yrs old with 163,000Kms and I fully expect her to make it past 400,000Kms. My brothers 20yr old civic is over 400,000Kms. I dont know sh!t but I do know one thing, if you take care of your maintenance your car will take care of you.
What maintenance is typically required outside of oil changes?

I think event ATF and coolant can be done every 100k km?

Some on DA are very religious with ATF change at 30k miles but I think that's more apt for CVTs.

Give me some time to fish out my work history and hopefully that may shed some light.

I think the opposite. The CVTs can go a little longer.

Honda themselves originally said to change the ATF every 60k or so, then they saw the widespread failures and bumped it to 30k before moving to the Maintenance minder.

ATF in these is really not good for >30k.
