So, I think I've talked myself into taking advantage of the deep discounts and 0.9% APR on a '17 Touring Sedan. I took a drive this weekend and I'm in love with that sweet V6. I've been shopping for months and have looked at everything from the new CX-5 and CR-V to a Ridgeline. At the end of the day, the vehicle I most want to drive on a daily basis is the Accord. My coupe has been great but I was some more space and after driving only 4-cylinders for the past 14 years, I'm hankering for the V6.

My problem is choosing a color. I didn't think I liked the straight ivory interior that comes on the ***, but after going back today and spending some time at the dealer, I think that's my preferred interior color. For some reason, I'm just not feeling the black. Maybe it's the brownish tone of the faux wood trim clashing with all the black, the fact that the headliner is light gray, or that it just feels too dark, I don't know. I do generally prefer warmer tones, which is why I bought my *** and Black/Ivory Coupe. That said, I really do much prefer the Lunar Silver over the ***, but it only comes with black interior. I like how it shows more reflection and depth, and changes a bit more in different lighting than ***. Obviously, I like the ***, too. that's what I've driving for the past 4 years. It just seems like maybe too much white on the sedan. White also shows dirt a bit more than silver and definitely mores on the back end of the vehicle. So, I like the ivory interior and the silver exterior. Should have known I'd end up here LOL. Now, I'm not saying that I wish there was a LSM/Ivory combo available; I don't think that would look good at all. I'm just trying to decide what color is more important, the interior or the paint.

I am well aware of how ivory will show dirt more than the black, but I keep my car in impeccable appearance, so it's not an issue for me on that front. I'm also aware that the ivory would be a bit cooler in the heat of summer, and hide dust better than black. I've had black leather before and it wasn't a major deal.

What arguments do you guys have for against LSM/Black or ***/Ivory?

Do eeny-meeny-miney-moe, and stop driving yourself crazy. They both are fine, neither is perfect.

I have a *** Ex-L sedan because I do think white is cooler in bright summer sun and heat. Having owned dark(re) colored cars in the past, my *** (with a weathertech sun shade in the front window) is noticeably cooler to get into after a full day parked in the sun than a darker car is (also parked with a sun shade used).

I know others will say it makes no difference. But after years of getting into a dark blue Civic in the same lot in the same parking spot after a day in the NC summer sun, I know my *** Accord is cooler after a summer's bright sunny day at work.

Plus I like the *** - after a wash and wax, it really pops in the sunlight.

I've always thought the ***/Ivory looks more "classy" and LSM/Black is more "sporty-ish" to a certain degree. I think the crappy pinstripes the dealer installs kinda kills the lines of both cars, so those would come off ASAP on either color. I'm kinda leaning toward ***/Ivory since it does look great with a nice coat sealant and I spend more time surrounded by the interior. And the *** with lightly tinted (35%) windows would look pretty snazzy :) Maybe eeny-meeny-miney-moe will need to be employed eventually, Kamdog :D

Perhaps I'm biased cause I just purchased in ***, but my favorite color by far with the lunar silver a distant second.

At the end of the day, it's personal preference so you have be happy with the decision.

I have a love/hate relationship with my Ivory interior, but I would buy it again.
Just make sure you get the black floor mats.

Thankfully, all the 9th gen interior colors come with black carpeting and floor mats. Good thing, too because I wouldn't even consider ivory if the carpet and mats were ivory, too. That's ivory overload :D

You should probably go based on what interior color you like better, as you'll be in the car looking at it, sitting in it. That's what I would do...if I'm between two exterior colors that I like but only one of them offers black interior, I go with that one.

I recently went through a similar decision when choosing my '17 Touring. (Love the Car BTW).

Interesting... The faux wood against the all black seems fine to me. Personally, I was not crazy about the light Ivory interior color scheme. Mainly, I didn't care for the major contrast (2 tone) between the Black and Ivory dash. I wasn't into the Gray interior for the same reasons.

Out of all the choices...I prefer the Black interior.. To me it is a "warmer look" and easier on the eyes. Plus I have to admit it looks cool! Especially with the choice of Lunar Silver exterior. This is a classic combo...... As someone said in an earlier post Silver/Black "Looks Sporty-ish". But I can also say LSM/Blk looks VERY classy as well.

Actually, the Black does show lint, marks and finger prints.. I now keep a soft cloth in the glove box to "dust" every now and then. Not a big deal. But the black does show stuff too.

As for heat? I live in the South and it is has been in the high 80's and mid 90's. I know the ***/Ivory will be cooler .. no doubt. So far, I have not had any major heat issues (although, I don't park outside for the whole day either). As for with my car, I think the Silver exterior helps keep little cooler ... Plus the headliner is light gray which could help too.

Yep.. Thankfully, my dealer had not "prepped" the car when I saw it on the lot. So I was able to buy without any dealer add ons. Before I bought I made them write on the work order "No Decals or Dealer Badges or Anything to be added". I did not want any dealer Advertising on the paint..

Well......... I hope this helps. But my guess is you will go ***/Ivory. Go with your gut! DO not second guess what you like. Everyone is different and what matters is you. Of course the interior comfort is WAY more important than the Exterior. Because we ARE IN THE CAR and not watching drive by!

Lastly, you will LOVE the Touring and the V6. It is really fun to drive!

MSM Touring

Went through the same thing. Dealer had a Red, black and white model in stock. We were really leaning towards the *** until my 2 year old daughter climbed into the back seat. Every little mark showed. Can't see having a car seat back there with my daughter climbing in and out. Went with the MSM touring with the grey leather which is a bit more forgiving. Had to have it shipped from another dealer in the area.

I have the *** and I like the lighter interior. I'm having no problems keeping it clean, just use some aerospace 303 once a month or so.

If you absolutely love keeping your car impeccable, it's quite hard to do chip touchup and such on the ***. The color is a 3 coat application. The white, the pearl on top and a tint. Touch up's only contain the white. So, you won't ever get an unnoticeable match. And the paint does seem to chip easily on the Honda. I've now had to fill quite a number of chips on my 2016 accord. I've only had it 9 months, but I've done more touchups on it then I did on my 2013 VW Passat which was over 3 years old before it was totaled.

I've had decent results on my current *** Coupe using Honda touch-up which includes the base coat and the top coat. Not perfect, but close enough. I tried Dr. Color Chip which is only the base color and it didn't match at all.

I plan to have clear bra installed on front bumper, grille, mirror caps and first 18" or so of the hood if I go through with a purchase.

I had ok results too on my ***, but it's certainly not perfect as far as the color goes. I had a rock hit my drivers door and take out too decent size chips down to bare metal. They are filled in and smooth now, after about 6 coats of paint, some wet sanding, and the top clear coat. but you can easily see where the pearl sparkle and such is missing. I used the honda paint.

I've got the CBP 2016 Accord Tourning. I pay a flat monthly rate for unlimited car washes because of the black paint. It looks amazing when clean and better than any Accord except the LSM Touring. I SERIOUSLY regret not getting LSM. The *** looks like a 58 year old brand new Grandma's ride. I read lots of owners on these boards that discuss owning ***. Since I can't see them I assume they're my grandmother.

My vote is for #dbap and get LSM.

#dbap (don't be a mussy) with a p.

We'll, I'm still struggling with a decision on color, haha! Still think I like the LSM better than ***, but not overwhelmingly so. Just can't get past whether I'd get tired of the all black interior. On either color, I think I'd go for having the front bumper, at least part of the hood and mirrors wrapped with paint protection film. My only concern with this is that the terminus line on the hood will probably be more visible on the white, and if the installer doesn't fully wrap the edges, those lines might show more, as well. It seems the silver will hide the leading edge of the film better. I guess I could go for full hood wrap, but that's probably overkill. Forgive my rambling, just getting this out in words may help me hash out the direction I want to ultimately pursue.

Thanks for all the comments, so far. Some good observations for sure :D

Here is my argument for the LSM. You will not get tired of the all black. It never gets dirty or hot(i live in MS...it's hot here). I have had black interior since 2005 and it's always looked brand new.
How does it NOT get HOT? I've had black interiors before and they are always HOT, HOT, HOT.

No rambling at all. If you drive mostly highway it's a good idea to get film protection. Installing it on the whole hood isn't a bad idea. After a year of owning my car, I have a couple tiny nicks on the hood close to the windshield.

Both white and silver are good choices. They hide swirl marks well. When it comes to interior color, I prefer black. It was the only option available for the 2016 sport models so I was pretty happy. Even the ceiling is black. Interior looks great at night with a bright led dome light. My 3 year-old son wants me to drive with it on all the time.
