2006 Accord V6 EX-L. 5 speed BAYA auto, 124,000 miles

I have a small oil leak and I’m wondering if there’s anywhere in particular I should be looking. The oil pools up where the transmission and engine meet, but I believe it’s coming from above that.

I looked around up top and couldn’t find anything that looked wet or anything. Valve cover gaskets were replaced about 15,000 miles ago and don’t appear to be leaking.

It is a slow leak. It leaves maybe a drop or two on the driveway everyday.

I would think rear main but I also don’t think it has the miles for that. If y’all do think it’s the rear main, I’m just going to run it. I’m just trying to see if there’s any “common leaks” on the V6 that is similar to this, and if it’s a relatively easy fix I’ll do it.

Thank y’all for any help! I’m a new Honda owner so these cars are a new world to me

I would say rear main. The oil pan itself doesn't usually leak and the front main/oil pump tend to make a mess around the front of the engine and on the lower part of the oil pan.

Remember, rubber seals age with time, not miles. 19 years is more than enough time for a rear main to start to harden. If you want confirmation you can pop off the flex plate inspection cover, it's 4 10 mm bolts under the transmission. It'll give you an ok-ish view of the rear main seal.

I found that high mileage oil works wonders in reducing the amount of leaks on my 07V6
I’m running a Castrol GTX high mileage 5w20 and a Wix XP filter. Didn’t change anything for me

I bought the car knowing that it had a small oil leak. Previous owner had no problem telling me about it. it’s pretty slow so again, if it’s a major deal I’m not gonna worry about it.

I’ll pull that cover off y’all are talking about and see if it might be the rear main. Didn’t know you could do that

Didn’t know if there were any “common leaks” for the V6 that might be the same case as what I have.

If it is the rear main seal, if you don't want to replace it, you might consider adding some ATP AT-205 to the oil. It has a very good track record for solving oil leaks (not just engine oil, even things like power steering fluid) on Hondas, especially the rear main seal.

Look in the valley, any oil leaking up there, will end up down at the bottom as there is a drain hole in the valley. Is the oil pan wet too? Usually rear main seals don't get the pan wet beyond the part that's near the bell housing.
