That Alpine system is really amazing, as is the rest of your car. If you don't mind my asking, and sorry if you've posted it before (I'm new here), what does that modification typically run for parts and installation?

i installed the interior illumination kit a couple months ago, and really like it, fairly easy install, and with the things youve done, should be cake

Will that unit play DVDs while the car is moving? I know some won't and have been looking in to a remove screen to replace the stock info panel... really just want to have Live Music DVDs in while I'm rolling down the road.

looks good, but i have a few questions (I'm an engineer). So, I didn't see any "analog" controls except for the fan knobs. What happens if the LCD fails or the software gets corrupted? Is there some kind of access to the radio's I/O?

They sell a video bypass module, it just fools the radio into thinking the e-brake is up and the car is stopped. Its like $25 and spliced into the back of the radio. You can get them for most video screen h/u's.

Then I guess your screwed. Maybe try a reset?? Thats what the extended warranty is for. I think you need to talk to Alpine directly for an answer to that question.
