Hey guys I am Yogesh from India Mumbai and drive a 2009 Accord 2.4L AT 4DR. It got Paddle shifters too. Now the issue is last week i got the steering rack overhauled and after fitting everything back the paddle shifters stopped working suddenly. The mechanic got no idea about it and where to check for the fault.
Is there anything which i can do it myself to check (like relay fuses etc etc). Can this malfunctioning be detected int he ECM scanning tools? The backlight on the shifter paddles (+ and -) glow but the paddles doesn't work.

Without knowing much about any paddle shifters for the Accord, it sounds like there weren't some wires that were reattached. Try that first.
I have checked all the connections inside the cabin, everything seems to be intact. Moreover we never worked inside the vehicle , all the work was done outside on the rack

make sure all you sensors are hooked up like the power steering pressure sensor or steering angle sensor or the paddle shifters will not work.

here is psp sensor, steering angle sensor is not likely the problem but i would double check all the connections around steering rack to make sure they are connected.

Yeps in India 08-2013 AT came with paddle shifters as a factory fitted thin. They saved the cost by excluding steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, sunroof and turn signal indicators on the rear view mirrors in the 08-11 models. 2012 to 2013 came with cruise control sunroof and indicators in mirrors as standard. in the 08-11 stereo controls are on the hand rest in the center of the rear seats.

Brand new 08-13 accord costed appx USD 40K + in India. Accord and civic have been discontinued from 2014 in India.

Its all stock factory spec. No after markets. Honda provided body kit.

Hey thanks a lot. I did feel H21 is the correct part number but when i saw the picture of the connector leads its different. Like if you see the pics posted by me the socket is 18 Pin Lead and the H21 part is 8 pin lead may b just for the horn and airbag.
Just check part number 77900-TA0-S91 and this parts seems to be a proper match to what i am looking for.
Now the last part in India i cant find this bloody thing anywhere, either with Honda or private dealers. Can you pls check for me if it is available in Taiwan and can be ordered from there.

I guess we pay more get more toys. The 2.4L cost $36500 USD and I paid $43500 USD for 3.5 here in Taiwan. The 9th Accord import from USA and 2.4L top of line are $48350 USD. We have to pay much more to be a Honda owner.....

Hi yogisays,
Form what I check in Honda parts book, S91which is for 5 MT not for 5 AT. The part number 77900-TA0-S21 can be fit in your car which use for 5AT. I can get H21,S91 and S21 in Taiwan but only H21 use on paddle shift steering wheel. I guess you need check with Honda parts people before you order the parts.

Ahh Dang!!! From what i have inquired in the last 2 days S21 and S91 are exactly the same.
By the way using my lil bit tech skills i was able to open this thing and repair it. Checked the continuity and soldering and wiring seems to be in proper place.
Got hold of a chinese manufacturer of these spirals who gave me a quote of S91 and S21 at 10 USD each plus postage.

Update

hey guys i did repair my old spiral reel and that lasted for a week appx but the paddle shifters didnt start working yet. Meanwhile i ordered 2 new spiral reels for 10 USD each plus 25 USD shipping. Fitted the new spiral which was factory centered and works properly for the Airbag and Horn, but still the paddles not working. Seems like the PCM has recorded some kind of error.
We used the Launch X431 and we could see that ishift was showing not configured. is Ishift for paddle shifters? if not then what is the solution now. Pls help me.

PS: i can see the paddle + and - signs are illuminated

Okay found the issue, the new Reel cable is the fault. one of the 8 pin socket cable is reversed way on the spiral which i have received. Solution is to re connect the wires on the steering side connector of the spiral in the correct order. Will be doing this DIY tomorrow and will post the results as soon as its done.

FINALLY my paddle shifters got life back. Working as normal. Swapped the wires on the coupler which is on the steering and connects to the spiral reel.
