I have a 2018 accord 1.5L turbo, bought it 4 months ago from car max with 45,000 miles. Currently has 49,000 miles and I've been trying to figure this one out for awhile..

Problem started a month ago, when I accelerated heavily I could start to feel a rumble, so I'd let off and continue. About a week later when I accelerated normally from a red light my car would lose power and sometimes the engine light would blink and would no longer be able to accelerate (limp mode) and other times engine light would stay on and I would get all 10 warning messages on the dash,(emission, hill climb, abs, etc..). I would have to pull over and restart my car, or disconnect the battery if my car was in limp mode. This would happen more early in the morning(Lots of moisture in the air) or when it's cold outside.. I live in Los Angeles.

On my lunch break I took it to autozone and ran the code. Came back with a cylinder one misfire. I started with the obvious and cheapest first, I bought one ignition coil from Honda $76.00 and replaced it myself. Problem subsided for about a week, but I noticed when I started my car in the morning it would shake.

So anyway, a week later my car started losing power again when accelerating or at 5k rpm around there. I then bought 4 spark plugs from Honda, and replaced all 4 @ 16ft. Lbs or 192 in lbs. Problem went away for about 3 days and I said **** it, I'm taking it to honda. ( had no clue about 60000 power train warranty)
On the way there my car heated up to temperature before I left my driveway. After taking it to honda they told me I had a cracked/blown headgasket and a collapsed coolant tube to the engine ..

Warranty accepted, honda is fixing everything..

Did Replacing the head gasket fix the problem? I’m at 79k miles and my car is doing the exact same thing your did and I took it to the dealer, replaced the spark plugs first, problems again took it again about 2 weeks later they said it was the fuel injectors. (Got those replaced for free, said there was a special warranty.) 2 days after that car started doin the same thing again, now they say it’s the headgasket leak. Just want to make sure that’s the problem because they want to charge 3,400 to fix

$3,400 to replace a head gasket?!

Just because that was his problem does not mean it's yours

Makes me wonder if the previous owners driving habits were the cause of the issue.
Same thought here. It’s either been abused by the previous owner, or it was assembled by a disgruntled worker on a Friday afternoon in Marysville, Ohio, or wherever else it was made.

same issues. changed the fuel injectors and spark plugs. a week later lost power on the freeway. brought it to honda and it was a blown headgasket. Luckily i had gotten the extended warranty. Pretty ridiculous that is happening at only 65K miles. Took perfect care of it prior to that. oil changes all on time.

Head gaskets aren’t cheap to fix these people are experts at how they don’t know about these problems are beyond me

Sounds like the both of you don’t have any of the pieces of crap that Honda has produced. I didn’t do my research on mine before I had it…. Bought one, started having issues and began to research. I have talked to MANY people with the 1.5 L accords, CRV, etc. All junk. It’s NOT always a consumer issue.

So my car 2018 Honda accord have blown up head gasket and the dealer is not giving me the reason why that happened and they saying that your extended warranty doesn’t cover that you have to pay out-of-pocket and they asking for $8000 if somebody can help me out, I will be really appreciated

Agreed, my head gasket blew at ~83k Mike's and Honda refuses goodwill repair.

I'm dumping the car

My God.... An extended warranty SHOULD cover it. I was quoted at $5500 for the repair at the dealership and $2300-$4000 at Indy shops

Did that fix the issue???? I am having the same issue and HONDA will not fix mine. It has 136k so considered out of warranty. After all that I am ready this happens with all the 1.5L. Their issue!!! They should fix it!!
I dont have a dog in the fight ..i heard some decent things about the 2.0 t turbo but not the smaller engine . I guess its a problem with clamping force on the head gaskets . May be set of studs or o ring cylinder head..might fix it . There must be a problem with the design or materials used . I would not want to fix and the gasket blows again..
