I’m experiencing a stutter in start up now ever since I filled up with 93 octane instead of 87. Is this normal or should I seek assistance ? Before it was a quick start with no stuttering of the lights or dash.

Here’s my car I took delivery of it last week I’m new here so I’m not sure how to attach a video of the stutter start up.

Here’s a link of it. Maybe It’s just in my head but I thought it was faster before?

Ummmmm that has to be just you. I filled up with 93 octane after 87 and never had any issue at all. Maybe you got some bad gas. Not really sure.

Not really sure. I see what you'e saying in the vid but I don't know if it's a concern or not. Dealership might be who to ask on that unless someone else here has had this experience.

I wouldn't even mention the octane rating to the dealer. If you're going to say anything at all you could say it started happening after you filled the tank with gas. However, I expect the dealer to advise you to run the tank close to empty and refill it to see if the issue goes away after, and honestly, I'd tell you to do the same.

As long as you're going to the dealer, have them check your battery and electrical system. Could be the system isn't getting enough electrical power at startup.

I had a pickup truck do this once when I filled up with Von’s gas (grocery store chain). Never had a problem with the truck before this and it stalled twice and was hard to start. I suspect similar bad gas in your situation too.

And I’m assuming if it was the gas the car would not Perform well?? It still drives great...
Chances are...if it was bad guess, yes...you would have issues other than funky starts...sounds electrical to me

It's probably coincidental that the stutter occurred following the 93 fill-up.

Gas octane won't cause an electrical stutter.

Being the car is a week old at the time of your post, the battery has been sitting around at the dealer or at least in the manufacturers parking lot losing energy all on it's own. Then it's transported. Still no miles on the alternator.

Did you charge the battery offline after getting it home? Not something foks think about but imagine a "new" battery sitting around for weeks with 12 miles on the odo never getting charged but it still sits with the normal 10 milliamp draw to keep things "alive".

As with the 9th gens and back, Honda has that ELD.

Anyone sure if the 10 gen has that ELD? Can't see why Honda would delete that little joyous system.

As stated by @Captaingeek22, @SwtAccrd and @S2k_Dude not to forget @Metfanant, have the battery and charging system checked.

Or check it yourself as someone starts the car measure the voltage at the battery posts and see if it drops below 10 volts (lower than 9.6vdc is worse). Then it's the battery charge.

I dropped the car off and they gave me a loaner Accord to get around with. But yes it definitely has something to do with the dead battery in my car as they hooked it up to help it charge because it was no longer turning on. They said they would test for any leaking electrical draining causing the battery to die over time. After they hooked the car up to get a jump to the battery everything was back to normal. I’m not sure how the battery would die with the amount of driving I do for work. I guess we will find out tomorrow .

They also pointed out that even though it was uncommon sometimes cars just come with bad battery cells and that they have had to swap brand new car batteries in the past.

Today I got the car back and essentially they sold me a brand new car with a dead cell battery. Really strange but I guess it happens. Thanks everyone who added in their thoughts. They swapped the battery and took car of everything. Hopefully no one else has this issue as it was a pain in the ass driving back and forth an hour there and then an hour back home
