I just bought a Used 2018 Honda accord 2.0t Touring less than a month ago and this is my first problem, When i’m accelerating up to 50 mph everything is fine, but when i go past 50 my car starts Jolting, Jerking, and not letting me go past that speed, it feels like it’s trying to but it just won’t, there’s no codes on the dash (except a CMBS one) , i don’t think that’s the issue but i could be wrong.

My best bet would be either dirty fuel injectors or a spark plug issue. i just don’t know and could really use some help.

Did you give it a thorough run on the test drive? You should’ve caught it if there were issues a month ago.

What’s the mileage on the car?

there were 0 issues while driving it, the gear switching was a tiny tiny bit jerky but it’s a 10 speed automatic so i didn’t see much of an issue there, everything was working perfectly up until today.

it has 117k miles but trans was just replaced a little before i bought it

Hmm the 10AT could be a bit jerky at cold starts, but it should be good once it’s warmed up. It’s actually a pretty smooth unit. The trans replacement you mentioned is giving me some bad vibes though. The 10G 2.0t has one of the best automatics in a Honda vehicle (and I’ve had several) and I haven’t really seen it being problematic here on DA. I’ve had about 70k on mine and there’s zero major issue. The replacement tells me maybe the previous owner either abused the car or didn’t take care of it properly. Do you have any documentation on the replacement? How about the spark plugs replacement? Have they been replaced? Were they installed correctly? I’d ask these questions at the dealership that sold you the car.

i will for sure be contacting the dealership about that, but they weren’t the ones that told me about it, i did some research and looked at a carfax for the vehicle, also the reason that the i think the trans was replaced is because from what the dealership told me , not in writing but telling me, that the car was somebody that used to work there, his trade in, it came with a PRL cold air intake , upgraded rims, tires, and a “race tune” this was all after i signed the paperwork and purchased the car.

i am a first time buyer and this was my first nicer/newer car, so i didn’t really know what to do with asking about the car, i did a test drive and it drove perfectly, even after i got it i was driving it at high speeds and everything handled fine. even the ride to the place right before this problem happened was absolutely fine.

I have a family mechanic coming to look at it tomorrow and he said it “He needs a tune up. Plugs and probably 1 coil”

but if it’s not that i don’t know what it could be and would really like to avoid returning it to the dealership, because if it’s not something small i’m just gonna return it since it’ll be under the 30 day return warranty

Sounds like the previous owner "hot rodded" the car (maybe even tracked it). I would turn it back in (this could be the start of other problems). The transmission isn't a new one, most likely a remanufactured one.

i thought this too, but the carfax was absolutely perfect, serviced every 3k miles, tires rotated, brakes checked, brakes changed regularly, tires rotated , and taken care of, no red flags in that department i think

it doesn’t also feel like a transmission issue, ik that’s weird to say but my older car had a transmission issue and that felt completely different
Have the dealer get rid of the race tune and get it back to oem spec's (something they should of done before selling it).
