The 2023 Accord EX has two up front USB C ports. One is simply called a Charging port, one is called an Audio Interface port. I have a USB thumb drive that I would plug into the Audio Interface port. Since this trim level does not offer SiriusXM, which I use a good bit, my problem is accessing it through Android Auto. Will I be able to access Android Auto by plugging my phone in the Charging port? Has anyone tried this? I have no interest in constantly switching out my thumb drive and phone. It is a shame that Sirius is no longer offered on these mid-level trims in Civics and Accords. Other car makers like Subaru, Toyota, and even Hyundai still do. Thanks.

Seems you need 2 audio interface ports, but there is only one. Would something like this work? Of course you would only be able to use one or the other.

You would also need a USB-c to USB-a

Yes without issue. CORRECTION: According to manual port is only for charging, sorry, my error.

Thanks, Larry. I will check these out. Yes, would need the USB c adapter also.

Thanks for that explanation. So you basically connecting Android Auto with Bluetooth. As long as I can control my SiriusXM app through Android Auto on the touch screen, I'm good. And I can plug in and charge the phone if I want.

I think so. I had a case where Android Auto connected Spotify to the web without my permission. Fortunately, Android Auto on your phone allows you to decide what apps appear on the car audio screen.

The more I am reading about this, the more I am seeing that you actually may have to have a Wireless Android Auto feature built into your vehicle. I have never really used Android Auto all that much. I have tried this in my 2021 Honda Civic EX Hatchback, what I have now (with built in Sirius XM in the radio, a data port in the console where I plug in my thumb drive, and a second data port up front), just to test it. I got my Sirius XM app on my phone to come up on the screen and worked fine, But I had to plug in with a cable to the USB port up front. I did not try it wirelessly. So frustrated that Honda took away features on these new Civic 2023 models. The new ones only have one data port up front and No SiriusXM built in - except on the very top of the line model, Sport Touring. Not interested. That is why I was looking to go with an Accord EX when my lease is up soon - they had two ports up front, but only one is for data/audio. Or so the comments and manual says. Why can't Honda just bring back built in SIriusXM/satellite radio in their mid-level trims like so many other car makers still offer. Some folks like the ease of switching through their music options without plugging and unplugging. Considering Subaru Legacy, which has all of this and would work for me. Not holding my breath that anything will change when the 2024 Accord and Civic models come out in the fall. That is enough ranting.

I believe this is due to Honda starting to use the Android Automotive OS on their vehicle models from 2022. So via Android Auto you can listen to SiriusXM through the app installed on your phone. It's the same with the new models of Sony TV, LG TV, Roku, Apple TV etc. Most people have an internet connection so no need for a portable or built-in satellite receiver. I am rather happy that Honda does not have such an option because it would increase the cost for me as well. And I don't really care for satellite radio.

You don’t have wireless connection. That’s why I suggested the dongle which will let you do that. The charging port is for charging only.

Here's adapter I used on previous vehicle and it works great. Downside is that you plug it into the USB port where you want to plug your audio device. It turns your phone into a wireless Android Auto connection to the infotainment.
Wireless Android Auto adapter for all cars and head units - Carsifi
I don't see how I would benefit from this adapter if I already have a direct good wireless connection between my Android phone or iPhone with the Audio system.
If my phone is inside the vehicle and is on the paired list, the connection is made automatically as soon as the vehicle starts.
I use it mostly for navigation. And I have a USB/flush drive connected to the USB-Data port from which I listen to music and at the same time watch Google Maps. If necessary, I connect the phone to the USB charging port.
This method is very easy to use. Sometimes my daughter uses my HAH. Her iPhone is on the device list. The connection takes place automatically. There is no need to search for this phone in the device list.

This is the one I got for mine. Android version is identical.

The adapter/dongle is only for models without wireless Carplay/Android Audio. Think LX and EX models. The Hybrids already come equipped with the wireless feature.

According to Wikipedia: In September 2021, Honda announced that it would use Google's Android Automotive OS in its cars starting in 2022.
If the LX and EX models are from 2023 and if the Audio System uses the Android Automotive OS then why not give a wireless connection option? But this can be checked in the owner's manual for these models.

OPO has EX without wireless, so that's why I provided adapter info, along with caveat that it would take up the usb port. You have wireless so adapter is not needed.
