While there have been posts here and there, I have not been able to find anything definitive about why there is little bottom end on the Bose System. With a guess, there is a "sonic depression somewhere between ~30 Hz and ~800 Hz. I've been told/read not to mess with the subwoofer. Also, I could turn off the ANR, but there are downsides of that. I was told by Crutchfield to replace all 4 door speakers and all will be fine.

Input and direction would be appreciated.

Add a 10” sub if you want heavy bass. Stock will never do that, Bose or not. It’s made to sound good and clear without all the bass drowning out the tunes themselves. These idiots with monster systems, all you hear is bass and they sound like shit because of it.

Bose no longer does consumer business in the US. They sell outdated home units at Target. It's not the same company it used to be.

Thanks all, My goal was to have "linear sound" in the car; highs and lows equalized for living room type sound. The lows and mid lows fall far short.

Have you tried doing a 10 inch woofer in the bose-strapped Accord? I keep getting input from car stereo companies that the ANR present between the amp and the woofer would be compromised if i replace the woofer. Their consensus is:
- If you replace the sub, you need an additional amp for the sub
- When you do this, you need to turn off the ANR

I don't want to turn off the ANR because i like quiet cars.

So most houses suggest replacing the door speakers will help minimize the low bass issue.

Thanks all for your feedback!
