Hello all! I'm currently thinking about trading in my 2020 Honda Accord EX-L for either a 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport-L (Love the look) or a 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring (love the features). The look of the Sport-L is sexy with the tires, baby black spoiler, and the black side mirror covers which can be all bought after the fact and put on the touring. The Touring features that jump out to me are ventilated seats, Bose Speakers, HUD, heated steering wheel and Google Built-in. Having test drove the touring, some of those features are gimmicky at best. I'm leaning toward the touring but wanted to see what you guys think?

You should be able to negotiate a better deal on the Touring.

I originally wanted an EX-L but the dealer didn't have any, so I looked at a Touring while I was there. They offered me $1K off the EX-L and $3K off the touring, which brought the price delta to about $2K. For an extra $2K, I went with the Touring. I like the HUD, the glass is quieter, I like the rain sensing wipers, the ventilated seats are ok, and the 2025 has a heated steering wheel. The stereo is marginally better.

For $4K more, I would have stuck with the EX-L.

As jal142 mentioned, choose the one you prefer after extensive test drives. Negotiate! Never mind what they "offered!" Pick the car you want. Counter their offer minus $5,000. Watch them squirm. Keep asking, "Is this the BEST you can do? Maybe I should look at Camry." So many car buyers get labelled "lay downs." Get it? I sold Mercedes and Volvo and always quoted sticker price. SO MANY PAID STICKER = laydowns. Don't allow that. No matter how nice the dealer is, he will gouge you at every opportunity. Mess with them! Go for the throat! Never agree to buy a car on your first visit. If you can't negotiate, find someone who can and bring them with you.

My opinion:

Get the Touring for the features- you then add the OEM accessories that will add the look that you are hoping for. You can add the black spoiler and mirror caps and replace the silver bumper inserts with gloss black ones. Wheels are easy enough to change too- you could either opt for a set of the black accessory wheels at the point of purchase or look for a set of gently used Sport-L wheels online (Ebay/Craigslist/Facebook Marketplace). You could then sell your touring wheels on Craigslist/Ebay/Facebook Marketplace.

Once you get used to some of the Touring features, you won't want to live without them. The heated steering wheel (2025), ventilated seats, and upgraded sound system are probably worth the upgrade over the Sport-L model. I know it was the previous generation- but I had a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0t and then upgraded to a 2021 Touring 2.0t. The Touring was worth the higher cost and most Honda accessories are easy enough to add yourself. The spoiler was a bit nerve-racking... drilling into the trunk lid of a brand-new $40,000 car is not for the faint-of-heart.

If you are a DIY type of person, you could order all of those accessories online (and save a bundle over what the dealer would charge you) and install them yourself, or negotiate their inclusion into your purchase contract if you wanted the dealership to install them.

Lots of people have used CollegeHillsHonda as a source of OEM accessories (I have gotten stuff from them for my last three Hondas- and they've always been great):

Gloss Black Mirror Caps & Bumper Inserts: $147
Gloss Black Rear Spoiler: $257
HPD 19" Wheels: $309 each (I actually like the OEM Touring wheels better... and the Sport-L ones better too, but these accessory wheels are an option)

You could also get gloss black emblems as an accessory:
"H" Logo + Accord: $48
Touring badge: $37
Hybrid badge: $30. (Not listed under the Accord, but it's available for Civics and I'm pretty sure it's the same size badge: Part #08F20-T20-100B)

This is just my opinion, but I went with the EX-L.
-Lower price than the Touring (the extra features didn't excite me enough for the extra money)
-Best gas mileage of all the Hondas
-17" tires instead of 19" (you give up a little corner handling, but MUCH cheaper to replace, not as likely to get curb rash, and a smoother ride because of they are not low profile on the sidewall).
-I personally liked the rims better too on the EX-L over the Touring
But, in the end, you'll have to be the one to decide because we all have different personal preferences!

I purchased the touring (white) but upgraded the rear spoiler and black mirrors and the HPD black wheels and blacked out the chrome windows and it looks pretty smart. For just pennies after that you can Amazon black door handles and the black antenna cover and all kinds of other nonsense to personalize your whip.

Agree Wholeheartedly about the tires. Low profiles suck, giving a harsh ride and are subject to being damaged a lot easier than "normal" tires.
