yea...lol...when I first got tha car my daily commute was 35 miles each way...plus I'm in college and I was going back n forth from Pembroke, NC to DC quite a bit...now my daily commute is about 20miles each way...

Wow I thought my 18K miles was alot. HAHAHA. Not a whole lot, oil and filter change, balance and rotate tires, brake inspection, washer fluid, top off all other fluids, inspect lights. thats about it....tranny fluid change if you have an auto.

I remember when I was going to school man.....I was an intern at this place for almost 2 years. My job was 28 miles away from my house (one way). Plus I was going to school.
For 2 years I used to drive 61 miles/day. 5 days a week. I don't miss it though :)

30k is alot tho...but thas why i brought anotha honda...my first honda (94 accord lx) had 220,000 when i sold her...and tha guy is still driving it...so i expect this one to at least be somewhat trouble free at least til 200k...i kno it seems ambitous...but its wut i expect.

I drive 80 miles a day just to work and back, not including anything else i do during my day. and im only at 10k miles lol (and i took a 2000 mile trip to texas!)

There isn't a 30k service for the '08 Accord. All maintenance is determined by the Maintenance Minder system.

If you have been performing all items that the Maintenance Minder asks for, then there's no need to perform additional services at this point.

However, if you have only been doing oil changes and tire rotations up until now (and ignoring the Maintenance Minder), chances are you will have skipped the mandatory engine and cabin air filter replacements. If so, replacing the engine and cabin air filters should bring your maintenance up-to-date.

The brake flush isn't due until three years from the production date, and the ATF usually does not require a service until around 45-60k at the earliest, though an early change cannot hurt.

I'm over 20k and my maintenance minder hasn't actually gone off. For anything. I got the oil replaced just before the warning went off both time's and got tire's rotated when that was done. But nothing's been changed out otherwise and no warnings gone off.

You're really throwing off the service system by doing that. I would just let it go to 15%, so the little wrench illuminates and the service code appears. If you keep doing things before the minder can set, then you'll never know what it is you were supposed to do.

I'll bet your air filter is pretty dirty.

Im just about there with you on almost 30k. I have 26k on mine now and I got my car in Feb 08.

Did you have your service done at the honda dealer on your old honda? You can see all the work that will be done in your manual or you can ask your dealer to print out a check list sheet. I get one each time I done a major service on my old honda. price should be between 225 to 300 but that also depends on your dealer. Also depends on if you have a manual or an auto. My old car was a manual but this one is an auto so I know the price will go up some.

Did you say you need breaks already? I hope I dont.

Right, if you do your services before 15% oil life remaining, you need to see which codes appear when you go to reset the system. If any codes appear when you reset the system, you need to do those services at the same time or else the system is going to assume that you did them (since you reset the system).

So, I would go ahead and replace your engine and cabin air filter to bring your maintenance up-to-date. The Maintenance Minder would've asked you to perform those filter changes back around 25k, so you probably missed it. After replacing those filters, follow the Maintenance Minder from now on.

thanks for tha responses...i always wait until tha oil life gets down to 15%...it's jus kinda weird becuz i'm near 8700miles since tha last dealer visit. I jus wanted to kno if there was any service special they had...last visit was oil change, rotation, brake adjustment, air filter, fluid top off, and i think thats it...so i guess figuring this visit should be tha cost of tha last one...$205...plus another $200 for front rotors and pads?

If you changed the engine air filter last time, then you won't need to do it again. At your upcoming service, have them do your normal oil change and tire rotation and have them do the cabin air filter as well (if you are certain it has not already been done).
