I finally got around to wiring up my foglights  but since I bought them a while back, I've drove past a lot of 7.5 gens, but NONE except for a coupe that I saw today have the fog lights installed. I only see one 7gen with them. I'm confused as to why that is. Were they expensive, did not a lot if cars come from factory with them ? I'm wondering if everyone just hated them, because the chances of seeing them in my city is pretty much close to none. Is this the same anywhere else ?

You don't have to cut your bumper. Only 2003-2005's need to.
You most certainly do have to cut the bumper to install OEM foglights for 06 - 07. The main cutout is there but you still have to do some cutting. It is pretty easy with the template provided.

That must be a coupe thing then. On my sedan all I had to do was trim the tabs that held the black plastic pieces in place.

As mentioned above, no trim comes standard with them and MSRP is around $250 before installation. Most people buy the fog light kits on eBay for $30-40 and some decide to throw the wiring harness/switch away, replacing them with an OEM harness/switch. I got my Spec-D Tuning fogs for $0.95 shipped and just used their harness/switch. It's not the best quality but it works just fine if you actually know the proper way of wiring them up safely as sodak and I have done. You can find my pics in another thread.

Yes, unfortunately it's a coupe thing. It's honestly not a big deal - it's just a little bit of trimming and I was done cutting both sides in < 5 minutes.

06-07 Fog Light Install
Cutting @ 2:35-3:45secs

The fogs on a 7th gen sedan look kind of ugly to me, atleast thats why I've never installed them. If it was easy to install 06-07 without doing a bumper conversion then I would be more inclined to install those. Then again, fog lights aren't a huge deal for me, I can see everything just fine with the exception of extremely heavy fog, which is rare due to the geography of where I live.

I completely agree with your statement of them not being a huge deal, Mitchell. For me living in SW PA, we do get a lot of inclement weather which is the only time I ever use fog lamps (to help in illuminating the lines of the road). I just hate the look of bumper covers - I think they make the front end look like a base model - so appearance was my major reasoning for installing the fogs. As I said, I would never spend $250 on them...but being that I spent a whole whopping $0.95, I have no regrets haha

Plus they are pretty low so the chances of a rock going through them is pretty high (yes experience) but the 40$ replacements on ebay fit right factory replacements are 100$ each

Yea, I could have never fit them in properly without cutting...possibly you could squeeeeeze them in but I don't see them sitting correctly. The same as some don't cut their rear bumper for the HFP kit, when you should, according to OEM instructions. I tried it first w/o cutting it and it just wouldn't sit right. Followed the instructions step by step & cut the exhaust cutouts - fit like a glove afterwards. Honda would NOT make you do an extra step if it weren't required.

Just my $0.02.

Most Accord owners do not want to go through the time and effort of fog light installation.
I believe that Honda should have installed fog lights standard on the EX models.

Frreal. foglights should come standard on cars these days. even other makes i would dare not buy come with them standard.

Fwiw took me 3 hours to install my oem fogs on a driveway in semi dark with the assistance of a friend to have extra hands and read instructions for me.

They were a great investment for my 7.5g. Took about 5 hours alone following the factory instructions to a T. In upstate NY they come in handy often.

Haha. Both mine are busted out on my coupe. With 60k miles in 2.5 years and already broken I surely wouldn't pay $100 to replace them with OEM. So i broke out all the glass till they get replaced. They become a regular maintenance item. Replace every 15k miles. HA

Pay 50$ or so for two ebay replacements. Put a coating on there. I drive a lot and mine are impressively durable. Could just be luck too....
