any of you noticed a harsher ride? I haven't but a buddy put one on (20mm I believe) and it seems to ride like a rock....suggestions?

Nope. I installed my sway bar at 6000 miles and it felt great. I didn't notice any harshness until I installed my coilovers later on.

I put in the TSX 17mm. The ride is harsher over rough road, otherwise unnoticeable. The car is much more composed around the turns, however.

there is a huge difference in ride between LX and EX L4 accords although the specs seem to be the same!
Thats because on each models the shocks and springs are specific to that model . that is not even talking swaybars differences .

On swaybar , when you go up in size there will be more rigidity because your putting more tension to keep both sides linked together (you lose some independence ) . This would only be felt under uneven road surfaces at each wheel/side . relatively hill or dips would ride the same and this varies on suspension components .

According to some online reviews, the main difference is because of tires.

LX have 16s and EX have 17s which means less sidewall on the 17s for a less cushy ride or whatever adjective you want to throw in there. And I just checked parts catalog and LX 4 door vs EX 4 door both 4 cylinders have same front strut and spring part numbers. Didn't check rears but I would assume they're the same as well.

i thin the only other change besides the wheels/tires is the ex comes with the front strut bar also. not sure if that affects ride at all.

I acheived the ride and look I wanted by installing the TSX 17MM and the Honda HFP suspension with adjustable rear bars for perfect alignment.
You have to be careful not to get carried away by all the fancy advertisements and graphics of suspension mods.
If you start putting on 20mm sway bars, race bred coilovers, super stiff strut bars, frame bars etc you may end up with a great track day car but one that is miserable to drive everyday. Go slow and look for users on this site that have made the mistakes and you can benefit by their experiences.

i thought the LX models do not have front strut bars? it's missing some studs which are filled with stickers or something, and the only way to put the oem strut bar is by changing the strut mounts to the EX models that have it

I installed a 22mm Progress swaybar and am loving it set in agressive mode with no ill effects on ride comfort. As others have already noted, when riding on rougher / bumpier roads you can feel the difference but nothing that is going to make you regret the decision to install it.

09 coupe EX w/ stock end links & suspension.

no, the LX does not have a strut brace that goes across to each strut hat mount ,they all have 26.5mm front bars (sedans). The difference as I mention before is shock valving , spring rates and of course the LX has 215/60/16/ series vs 225/50/17 series tires, this firms up ride and input response .

How is that so when the part numbers between LX and EX models is the same?
there not the same, different shock ,springs for each model. Some models share same shock , like LS coupe and V6 sedan, but on sedans the part numbers are different across all models (there like 6 different springs ) . It depends on transmission type , engine type and model type .

here one example LX front shocks/springs

EX front shocks/springs

I looked them up on a different website and they came up the same. That's why I said what I said. Maybe that site needs to update their info.
EDIT: When I looked them up I also looked up 08 4 door EX and LX not 09s

Shocks and springs are different though they are priced same. There are lot of subtle differences between EX and LX. I wondered why dealerships never try to up sell the higher trims.

One more thing that is important to the way a car behaves while driving is tire pressure. For twenty years, I have used Michelin tires because some of their models allow much higher pressures than what the manufacturer suggests. With tires driven stiff, I love the car's handling.

For my new Accord's HFP wheels, I found Michelins that recently were released in a 245/40/19 size with a 500 treadwear rating! Combined with the high tire pressure I use, my HFP suspension rides really firmly, and the TSX RSB has controlled a lot of the uncertainty that was easily felt when the car came stock off the lot.
