A small discussion came about in another thread, so i'm making this thread to keep the other one on topic .

Some people love it, others don't. I'm in the don't like it category. It's dramatically under powered for being a $100k price tag car of it's time. Furthermore, despite it's current average value being between $25k and $50k, it's still a severely under powered car. Sure, comparison tests of high end American cars put the car up on a pedestal, but the price tag of the NSX should put this car to compete against cars in it's class, exotics. Example of these exotic cars are cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche. Or, if you are looking into the Japanese exotic/super cars, then the Toyota Supra or Nissan 300zx would fall in that class. Even then, the Japanese competition offered more power than the NSX did.

For the reason of the car being underpowered and over priced is the reason why I simply don't like the NSX. Even to this day, it is not a car I would even consider. So, for these reasons, I do not like the NSX. It's under powered and over priced.

Anyways, what are your guys'...and gals'....thoughts about this?

it's an open-ended discussion. what are your thoughts on the car. for me, it's an overpriced and severely underpowered POS, lol.

For what it's worth...I read either in a magazine or heard on Barrett Jackson that they're not collectible. So don't buy one to garage thinking it will one day be worth moolah.

Well there ya go. You've answered your own question
i didn't have a question about the NSX, lol. i've always felt that way about the NSX - it's an overpriced and underpowered POS. and it's a POS because it's underpowered and overpriced

i'm just curious to know what everybody else thinks about them. some people praise them and others, like myself, despise them. then there are others, like yourself MSchu, that they feel this car is more a grey area.

Look for one at a dealership close to you. The only employees that are responsible for building the car have at least 10 yrs with Honda and are the best at what they do. Makes the S2000 feel like a gutless wonder. Still not sure how you can judge a car without ever driving it. :screwy:

specs. specifically, performance specs vs. other cars in it's class.

You can't judge cars by specs. I don't think the NSX became out-of-date until towards the end of its run. I'm pretty sure the twin turbo Supra and Z weren't faster than the NSX in a straight line and even if they were, the NSX would tear them apart around turns. I'm not even a fan of the NSX but how can you hate a car that looks like that, is mid-engine, and has an aluminum body?

Well i wouldn't mind buying it now. They cost around 25-50k. I can care less for its power. They have so much to offer besides power. I would simply modify it to meet my requirements for power if needed. Anyways, i'm married to the nsx, never divorcing her. :naughty:

just imagine what the specs on a 2010 Acura NSX would be .I have never driven a NSX so i can only speak on its looks and it looks sick ! Now in my opinion v6 mustangs are POS!!! Monte Carlo's are POS !!!

NSX is not a POS, because it's not just about the power, and because it can look like this:

and its chasis and potential lets it grab the attention of tuners even years after its release:

The last NSX I drove was in 1995. I was deciding whether to buy an NSX or a 911. The NSX was very refined, but, unlike the 911, it just didn't feel like it belonged on a race track. It didn't feel like a strong thoroughbred. I wouldn't call it a POS but, after driving it, it certainly wasn't a car that I just had to have.

NSX is my dream although it is not imported in my country. I think (the) NSX is one and was for years the top japanese exotic super car. Yes I agree that it might be expensive, the overall shape has not change much and specs has not changed a lot like other japanese exotic cars but this proves one reality/truth that this car (the NSX) is a successful project as other japanese car companies were struggling for (years and years) to introduce and innovate new designes, much powerful specs and cheaper (not sheeper) exotice cars just to trying to take (the) NSX down. Although there is some cons in (the) NSX as a car but I believe (the) NSX worth respects from all of us either liking it or not. Also, I admit & agree that it is the time to introduce a new(or a new NSX) BEAST (just like the NSX) newely shaped/designed, powered and reasonably priced to AGAIN make japanese and other extoic car manufactureres strugle for 10 to 15 years just trying to be nose to nose with (the) NSX on the pit lane.
