All summer I've had a B-Pillar noise that has progressively gotten worse. The only way I can describe it was as it sounded like something was moving when I stopped and started. Similar to a pendulum swinging and making a noise when it stopped.
I tore a part the b-pillar and cound not locate it. I was starting to think maybe there was a bad weld that had released. I have read about that on 8th gens in the rear area that would get a clicking over bumps.
Anyway, I was getting out of the car yesterday and I placed my hand on top of the door frame where the door mets the pillar and I heard the noise!!! I probed deeper and found that of I lightly pushed on the chrome accent trim where it meets the black vertical trim, I would hear the noise. The passengers door and other doors did not do it.
I removed the weatherstripping from the door frame and found a screw at the corner. It was not loose, but I was able to turn it about 1/8 a turn and the noise was gone. All last night and this morning the noise is gone.
From what I can summize is that when starting and stopping the door was shifting JUST enough on the striker to shift this trim and create the noise. Hopefully this can help someone else out in the future.

(I have attached a picture of the screw I tightened.) (Ok, I have not. The forum wont load the pic)
