Nope, only at 10k, but still looks new. Don't neglect it when you wash your car.

Mine had a fair bit of salt spray under the hood from the brutal winter we had this year. I always wash under the hood once a year in the spring. I use regular soap that I use on the outside of the car with an old wash mitt. Hose down the engine bay - don't use high pressure water, just a gentle stream with the garden hose. With the wash mitt, clean the underside of the hood and all the areas you can reach/see. Rinse with water, and dry with a towel. I usually start the car right afterwards to heat the area and evaporate whatever water is left. A lot of people are hesitant to hose under the hood, but a gentle stream of water is fine - NO power washer!! My neighbour did that to his Corvette and it ran like crap for a while.

23k miles here and it is still spotless.

aug 2012, little dusty but nothing like that

Don't be hesitant to hose the under of your hood and engine bay. Follow these simple steps and you'll be happy with how clean it will get.

Products Needed:
- Simple Green
- Brush (prefer soft bristles to not scratch any plastic/metal)

- Before you begin, start with a COLD engine. This helps the Simple Green to not dry quickly and work to its full potential. Also, put a bag over your alternator (this will keep it dry). When hosing the engine bay, uses a back and forth motion and try not to spray directly water onto one section.

1) Start with the hood and spray it down with Simple Green. Don't be scared to spray a good amount on it.
2) Let it soak for a few minutes. (Don't let the Simple Green dry or it won't agitate the debris.
3) Hose off ALL of the Simple Green.
4) Repeat these same exact steps for the engine bay. Like I said, don't be afraid to spray Simple Green on EVERYTHING.
5) Depending on how dirty your engine bay & hood is, repeat this procedure if needed.

I didnt keep it long enough to get dirty apparently...

Mine has been pretty dirty since I noticed it around 4k miles. I'm sure living in Albany had something to do with it.

My dad's car has stayed in queens for the last 7k miles and it's spotless.

A little over 1 year old and almost 9000 miles. A very very little light dust - I've wiped it down two or three times. Your picture looks like you parked in a sandstorm with the hood up.

Wow...

PS: Is it really safe to hose down under the hood with water? I've been thinking of doing it with my '99 Civic but am afraid something will short out - or other bad things will happen.
