We noticed that the shifter position indicators on the console (P, R, N, D, B) are not back lit at night on our new to us 2015. Is this normal? I understand there's an indicator in the gauge cluster, but I would have thought the console would be illuminated as well.

I know the little blue light is supposed to light up the center console maybe that is why they did not backlight the shifter?

They do on my 2015 EX-L, when parking/headlights/interior lights are on. The blue light in the overhead console also comes on.

Interesting. We've got the base hybrid, which seems to be roughly the equivalent of the standard EX. I suspect they are supposed to light up but the dealer missed that they weren't. I might The fact that there is already a Youtube video about replacing them makes me think that it might be a common failure point.

My indicator light just blew out a few weeks ago in my '07. I think it's a dealer-only part because it's a tiny lamp, maybe 1/4" in diameter and 1/2" long. About $3 at the dealer. It looks the same as in that video.
