ATLP J Pipe & RV6 3rd Cat delete Installed 260whp/240wtq - Gen 8

Just got my ATLP J-pipe and RV6 Test Pipe Installed. The Jpipe fit flawlessly. I had to tug on the exhaust I little bit to get the Test pipe to fit but all in all the install wasn't anything difficult. Here are a few pics.

The performance gain is ridiculous. Midrange TQ is soooo much stronger. Its hard to keep traction even in 3rd. But it started to rain so I couldnt get fully into it. There is no sound change but you can hear the engine a bit more in the cabin. This is a great mod but I can tell I need an Intake.

UPDATE> I have had a chnace to get on it with it installed and WOW. The car feels a hell of alot faster now.The engine just feels really strong. I cant wait to put the intake on in a week.

Yea I'ma get dynoed after the intake get installed.
 
power = air in + air out

think of the car as a person. you just put a really giant butthole on the car, but without a bigger colon (headers) it doesnt matter. sure the butthole can push more air out, but the colon (headers) are bottlenecking the flow.

if it feels as powerful as you say then everything AFTER the headers would be the bottleneck. i'm inclined to believe the gains were marginal, and that headers would substantially open it up, and the intake would also be integral.

driving on a slick road isn't a good test.

get the AEM by the way, it works well.

once you get her breathing, you will need to tune as well to really max it out.

Great Job L. I'll call Paul soon to put mine on!!! Someone also put a response to my thread saying he had fitment issues. Something tells me that he installed the old V1 j-pipe Richie used to sell before coming out with the version 2 that we both have.

I'll call you and jackal up to meet up soon.
 
i did nothing regarding heat shields
 
do you have ver. 1 or 2 atlp j-pipe?

I noticed the stocker had 2 heat shields. Did you guys do anything for heat transfer in those areas since the aftermarket part doesn't have anything there?
There is no need for heat shield because there is no longer a catalytic converter. The cats have shields on them because the catalyst produces alot of heat.

There is also a heat shield attached to the car above where the cat would sit aka where the test pipe is sitting.

do you have ver. 1 or 2 atlp j-pipe?

Just installed my Injen Intake last night and good googly moogly the car screams now. The stock intake was so restrictive. When removing I notcied that the only source of air was comin from the duct in front of the battery. They really tried to make this motor make NO power. The car felt SLIGHTY faster with the Jpipe and 3rd cat delete but with the Injen intake on there this thing feels like its a different car. Easiy a mid 13 second car now. My next move will be suspension and custom exhaust because the exhaust on this car is a toothpick. After that will be pre cat deletes and underdrive pulley.

yea i would really love to see the results i have the injen too and im thinking about getting the j-pipe havent decided yet!

Didnt dyno yet. I was going to go Friday. But Thursday was my birthday and I was busy all weekend.

^^^ LOL Thanks. I got my from the black market/classified on acurazine.com But you can go to acuratlparts.com to order the V2 pipe directly. But I am unsure if the V2 pipe fits without modification. I am using the V1.
