Anybody replaced their Automatic Gear shifter knob yet?? I recall seeing someone had an S2000 shifter in their signature. I know i have an auto, dont remind me.....but I can still have a cool shifter!!!

Pics would be great. How do I remove the stock one though is my main concern??

Anyone? nobody has switched the stock shifter to something a tad bit nicer?? No matter how often I condition that Fake leatherette, it just looks so dull. I dont like the plastic on the shifter at all either....

Yeaa i know what you mean, thers this scuff on the shifter that no matter how much or how hard i clean it, it wont come off, kinda annoying, because the rest of my interior is flawless ... butt it doesn't bother me enough for me to go change the whole shifter...

i looked at the 8th gen and it doesn't look like that part is removable.
i think what ur talking about is the AT boot/shiftknob conversion. like what i did.

yeah id like to change the stock rubber shifter on the auto aswell but how the hell do i take it off... and what fits really?

u could try and use the boot that comes in the 6MT model. but first thing is u gotta find out if u could remove the center piece.

Somebody has changed out their shift knob but don't remember off hand who it was. Do a search.

It's for the TSX but removal is similar to the Accord, especially the part with the shift switch cover and the 2 screws underneath.

And as far as I know, nobody has made an aftermarket automatic shifter that will fit the 8th gen Accord yet. There's a Japanese leather shift knob that you can import but I believe it only fits the sedan properly.

thanx for the info guys!! I have the automatic, as i mentioned. So, there is no boot to replace. Just the gear shifter knob itself was my issue. I do not want the plastic or cheap leatherette to wear down before I buy a new one. I want the stock one new for when i sell the car inna few years. I bought my car str8 up, so I have to trade her in within 3-4 years in order to keep 80%+ of my money.

Man that looks phatty. :thmsup: I too want to change the shift knob and use the leather boot from a M/T w/my auto. The silver plastic trim they used in the A/T around the shifter looks cheap as hell. Anybody know if this mod could be done and how.

This is a top priority for me!
