Just got my new 2024 Accord Hybrid EX-L Monday and so far loving it. Love the technology, love the gas mileage and the drive and quietness of the cabin. However, one thing I don't like is the night visibility. I have a feeling I was spoiled by the LED aftermarket headlights I put in my previous card (2013 Accord) and the projector style headlights. These just don't seem to light up down the road as well and seemed to be aimed lower. Anyone else notice this? I compared them both to my aftermarket ones on my 13 Accord and the stock ones on my wife's 19 Pilot and they just don't light up down the road as well. Anyone try aftermarket LEDs or anything? Or re-aiming them? Or are my expectations too high?

Wow I don't know what kind of fusion-based lights you are used to but to me the LEDs in both my Accord and Pilot are really bright and white. No complaints. I am comparing to the H9s in my older Accord. (Which themselves are a hacked upgrade because the car itself takes H11s)

I start my commute in the dark every morning and find the headlights to be excellent. They seemed to be aimed well as no one ever flashes me thinking I have high beams on. I have driven other vehicles with lights aimed higher and have been flashed by drivers even with low beams.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I wonder if something is wrong with mine then. I'll try to take pictures tonight and post.

My headlights rock.

But look how low they are....20 feet away from your car they are dying at the ground. It should be hitting that brown wall in front of you. I'm going to try and take some pictures tonight to compare. Thanks for sharing!

Maybe your aftermarket lights on your 9th gen was just never properly aimed with bad light cutoff and pattern. This happens often with LEDs put into housings never meant for LEDs. Some combinations can get away with it and provide good, safe, and proper illumination, most can't.

The 11th gen Accord earns the "good" in the headlight category in the IIHS test. Headlight projection distance limit is also limited to 5lux, which isn't a lot.

You can't really tell from the photo, but that is downhill. Click on the photo twice and you will get the full size photo. It is a little more apparent then.

mine blows away my 21 Camry XSE headlights. I have a touring though so I’m not sure if the headlights are an upgrade from yours.

What you're describing is your 9th gen with LED lights shooting everywhere and allowing you to see better but likely blinding other drivers. How do I know this? I have a 9g and this is something well documented with the OEM projectors which have a TERRIBLE cutoff and aren't designed for the intense light of LED/HID bulbs. I retrofitted my 9g Accord with TL-R projectors with steep cutoff so I shoot light far down the road but in my own lane and my cutoff in opposing traffic doesn't go higher than their bumpers.

At 25ft from a wall your should have zero to a slight drop in headlight height

On the 9g Accord all this light above the messy cutoff is what's hitting street signs, trees, etc.

And here's what a TL-R swap looks like, notice no light above the cutoff but the driver will "see less" on the road

Hey, thanks for all the info. Yeah, I think I was spoiled with my own car with a higher cutoff. I'm not a fan of the two headlights on each side in this car, seems to create some shadows where they cross over, but oh well. I'll stick with these for a bit and see if I can get used to them. Thanks!

I have a new 2023 Accord EX and I was wondering what lightbulb model was in the double headlight housing?
There are no lightbulbs anywhere in the 11th gen... It's all LED assemblies.

FWIW, I did a road trip in the deep dark woods on Wednesday evening, and I was really impressed at how great the Accord's headlights are...
