Hi Guys,

Time to change shocks to my '07 Accord sedan EX V6 after 100K miles. Which shocks do you recommend for a sport style drive that are not that hard on bumps and holes?

100k miles doesn't mean your shocks are worn out. If your shocks have no leaks, no noises, and the car doesn't bounce after you hit a bump, the shocks are probably just fine.

At 103K my right front shock is leaking and began to make a slight knock sound, rear shocks look OK.
I already had the KONI STRT shocks on a '11 Mustan GT, they performed way better than the stock shocks, but yes I agree with other prior owners that is luck game that all new shocks arrive without deffects, I had to return one that was bad, after the replacement under warranty, they were perfect on that car. But don't want to play the guess game again. No way I will install a KONI yellow on a non sport car that will never see the track, to expensive, STRT ones are enough for spirited driving.
On othe hand the handling with the oem shocks was great, but based on the KYB comments you can get similar performance for half the price of the stock honda's shocks.
I had previous experience with Bistein's HD mounted on a Porsche 911, great shocks, but to expensive for the Honda Accord. I think I already decided and ordered the KYB based on very good Accord owners reviews. I only hope that they perform and have the same quality as oems or better. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

I replaced 2 rear shock absorbers on family's 2009 Civic Sedan. I purchased a pair of KYB's , to my surprise the OEM's I took out have KYB markings on it and are original from the factory. They bear the same part numbers you can get from KYB itself. OEM's are only expensive because it's "from Honda".

Hey jmmch65, (MOD EDIT: PLEASE POST IN CLASSIFIED)

jump on that deal if it's with springs!

My OEM ones were Showa. I replaced with OEM because I like longevity.

I contacted KYB and they told me that they have an exception for the 2007 accord v-6 exl, so they don't have a rear strut listed for this application. they do have one for the 2007 accord v-6 ex. I asked them what the difference could possible be and they could not tell me. I want to use oem struts, but they are pricey.

That is not the only symptom of bad suspension . One is excessive roll when cornering , bends , changing lanes , and drifting into the adjacent lane when windy on the highway .
