So my gf has an 09 coupe Auto LX-S in Belise Blue. Gorgeous car, but a little under powered for power to weight ratio.
I want to upgrade with typical bolt on mods Intake and exhaust only, not sure if there a race header available.
Is anyone boosted with turbo or supercharger systems?
I know the car is very limited for being automatic but im curious to see if anyone else has gone this route.
Supercharger seems much easier because it's a K series and a Jackson Racing or CT Engineering SC would bolt right up not to mention plenty of room. On the other hand many but not all parts for turbo would need to be custom (down pipe, inncooler pipping, innercooler mounts). There is so much support for the K series it really wouldnt take long to build, But going either route also requires a superb ems system. Does Hondata or AEM support the 8th Gen accord? I know they are available for the same year TSX which has the identical K24Z3.
Also ems might not support an automatic trans which would be a bummer, not only that but an auto trans isn't meant for abuse so possibly an LSD could help with distibuting power smoothly and evenly.
I wouldnt plan on breaking HP records but 7-10lbs boost max or 240-250 whp for a super fun daily.

This has been asked a million times here. Sell your car and buy the V6 because the price difference will be less than whatever you would spend chasing a turbo on a car where there are no bolt on solutions or ecu tuning options available.

I never liked a V6 in a front wheel drive car.
Not really for me i am very resourceful and i already have two supercharges sitting at home along with a spare turbo kit. I know a few fab shops that can make the custom partsfor nearly free.
I know ems would be the most expensive but that goes with any car.

There is no hope for the 8th gem accord. We've been here for 4 years a be nothing has come out and there is no after market tuning for the accord yet because the ECU hasn't been cracked yet. There is nothin aftermarket that will add performance to the automatic accord. I have a cold air intake, downpipe, exhaust, throttle body spacer, deleted cat. And nothing has been gained at all to my car

It could be done, especially if you have the right resources. There is no current direct plug and play tuning solution for the car (Hondata does have a flashpro for the TSX, but I am unsure of their capability), but if you are willing to go custom spliced in you could run a full stand alone or piggy back and have it properly tuned and adjusted.

CT Engineering also has a supercharger for the TSX i4, just don't know if anyone has tried it on the Accord. Minus some possible slight custom fitting, it should be very similar and if you can get around the tuning it's a very good way to make power. It's a road less traveled here for sure, but if you have the desire, resources and funds it can be done.

Well AEM is a stand alone system so it doesnt crack the ecu it replaces it, just like KPRO.
i find that hard to believe have you put it on a dyno?
The 3rd day my gf got her accord i threw it on the dyno to see where the power was at, hit around 170 whp consistantly, changed the oil, plugs, battery, and k&n oem replacment filter and hit 176whp all day long.
It's a K series and i have a lot of experience with K's. Bolt on respond exceptionally well on them and for some reason automatic transmissions very well.

I would never run a piggy back, it just tricks the ECU. For any gains with boost a stand alone system is required and has a billion more options for the tuner to work with.
I am not looking to do this any time soon just very courious to see if anyone has even tried.
I have the CT Engineering sc for 8th gen civic. I know it will bolt right up to the K24Z3 accord without any clearnce issues to really prevent it.
AEM and Hondata both have ems for the TSX but im sure you need to contact them to see if any adjustment need to be made for auto trans.

Sounds like you really know what you are up against and going full stand alone, the more expensive route, does definitely offer more adjustability. As far as I have seen, no one minus one or two from out in Asia have boosted the i4.

Well someone's gotta do it here hopefully i can step up before anyone else does.

Well if you have the money to pay with, by all means go ahead...

There are some guys on xxxxxx who are working on this, with atleast a turbo TSX kit already fabbed. Another vendor there is supposedly working on a flash tuning solution also. So the pieces are atleast coming together if this is a must for you.

That said as much as I am a fan of the K24, I would prob also just trade for a 9G V6 6MT if I really wanted the power in these cars.

Outersquare, prepare for 3-5 DriveAccord men at your doorstep in the morning. It won't be pretty. How dare you bring up "the other forum" here?! :lmao: :lmao:

I doubt even with a turbo that you'd be able to beat a V6 without risking a blown up engine.

But as always, it's your money to burn.

With just a turbo slapped on, no the 4cyl Accord won't be able to touch a v6... but with other bells and whistles (injectors, etc.) it would.

On a side note, I'm curious how much boost the engine could handle.

If nitrous is the same as turbo boost in terms of danger, then I think I recall a guy that blew a hole in his engine running +100hp shot of nitrous.

people routinely run 500-600 WHP on stock block K24s at k20a.org

You do realize this will cost 5-6k after all is said and done. If not more
Agreed. You could trade up to the V6 and have reliable, hassle free power for less money. J35 is a wonderful engine and I don't understand why anyone would want to mess with a K24 when a J35 was available from the factory.
