This car is definitely due for a brake job, what do I need, was told brakes and rotors, but what other potential parts (would like to change out what I can if its a good idea anyway), and what Brand/Vendor (OEM/aftermarket, etc.) recommendations? Looking for Longevity/Quality.

Just passed the 100,000 mile mark

While there, make sure to lube the caliper slider pins....change out the fluid while you are at it too.

IMO, OEM pads are a good deal, but the OEM rotors are not worth the high price. I bought NAPA (raybestos) rotors. People say good things about the Centric brand rotors too. If you are planning to do this yourself, and don't have experience with Honda brakes, watch a couple Ericthecarguy videos to get an idea what is involved. Good luck

You can get everything aftermarket for brakes, except for the shims, sitting in the upper and lower ends of the caliper bracket. I've found that the aftermarket shims just don't fit right. Definitely get aftermarket rotors, it is nothing but a piece of cast iron. I personally get Centric.

ok, so for front and back, what does that mean four rotors and four pads? do front and back differ?

@ownaccord: I see you ignored BLCKFLSH's advice....and you are now asking questions that a 3 minute video or 2 minutes of research can inform you on. Did you even look at the link salcutta88 was kind enough to post? Not even a quick glance? No?

Go to YouTube, search for Eric the Car Guy, and the word "brakes". Best 15 minutes you will spend today- unless you are Lucy Liu's boyfriend.

will do, will watch the video when I get a chance (was not an educated question, done in haste, I know)

Will not be doing it myself but wanted to buy the parts and take them to my mechanic.

No worries, thanks for all replies! this forum is great.

Fair enough...

You will need 4 rotors (the two front rotors are different than the two rear rotors) and 8 pads (each rotor gets an inner and an outer pad). As with rotors, your front brake pads will be different than your rear brake pads.

As far as "hardware"- these are things such as "retainer clips, rubber boots, and even slider pins. You may or may not need new hardware- it depends on if they are still good or not.

I, and many members here would be happy to walk you through a brake purchase or a brake job each step of the way. And as you know, do some homework and ask away!

In your research, you will note several members here rave about brake rotors and pads from places such as Advance Auto or Autozone. The "premium level" of these parts come with a lifetime warranty- which means when they wear out (for any reason at all) you can return them for new, free ones. Member "Drew" does just that.

Note: Your signature says 63,000 miles? Your post says 100,000 miles. Do you mean 100,000 km? Or you just need to update the signature?

While I am here, noticing a light grinding sound while driving and a weezing sound while going in reverse, I am assuming these are brake related since my brakes are bad but just asking.

That higher-pitched whine (wheezing sound?) is normal in reverse.

The grinding is most likely the backing material of your pads coming into contact with the rotor, as the pad's braking material has worn away.

The whine or weezing only recently started and its loud. The othe sound seems to be happening even when not braking at all

Sounds like no pad material is left, so you have metal on metal, which will make noise in either direction.

On this note, any recommended stores or locations in GTA, Ontario Canada to pick up this gear?

If you update your location (underneath your join date) and your mileage, you will get more responses from helpful Canadians. And they are helpful. Probably because they put real alcohol in their beer!
