So when I use the remote to unlock my car nothing happens. But when I stick my key in, and unlock it, the car alarm goes off? What is wrong? Anyone have anything similar?
Your question is IMPOSSIBLE to answer. Reasons: A) Don't know what make/model of car you have, B) Don't know what alarm system is installed, C) Don't know who installed it, D) Don't know if you've read the instructions and if you know how to properly use it. :dunno:

MY answers are about as useful as YOUR questions. Correct? :dunno:

I think he's factory.

Something is wrong because you are supposed to be able to unlock either front door with the key to disarm. supernub, does it sound on both doors? From what I remember, there are switches and sensors on all doors, trunk and hood. If the equipment at the door is out of adjustment it could set it off when you use the key. Or it could be a whole slew of other things related to the multiplex system.. which is never fun.

car alarm not disarming with the key

I have the same problem with the car alarm not disarming with the key. Is there new information about this; is there something I can do or check out before bringing it to the dealer?

Car is the 2002 Accord EX with the factory installed alarm system.
Before last Monday, I always disarmed by unlocking the door with the key. Now I have to use the remote, or the alarm goes off (then I remember to disarm with the remote). P.S., the car drives fine.

If you lock the car with a remote and unlock with the key the alarm will go off. 50% of cars will do this. Its to keep people from picking your lock to break into your car. If you lock the car before you get out, or with the key once you get out, you should have no problems. Otherwise I cant help you.

It shouldn't. Mine doesn't go off unless I reach through the window and unlock it from the inside while armed.

lol

my old v6 ex would do that. its to prevent some goon from opening the car with alarm on. if you lock it with keyless and try to use a key or go thru the window, and hit unlock. obviously you dont have a fob to unlock it. and are probably a theif. you need to disarm it via keyfob only. and then no alarm will go off. lol

lol

to put it short. i dont know of any way to disarm it with a key. AT ALL. someone might but im pretty sure its not possible.

If locked with fob the key will (supposed to) unlock and disarm it- both doors and trunk, i just checked. Also says this in the service manual.

fob

wierd. id say it was the chip in your key but it cant be if the car starts. i always thought you needed to use the fob to disarm. if i find out anything to fix that ill post it.
