I finally found some time tonight while the wife's away out of town to clay, seal, and wax my car. Everything was going great until I saw this set of raised bumps (like the paint bubbled) and then there is one lone mark towards the front of the door at the same level. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue? I don't plan on getting it repaired; its been my experience that when it comes to painting stuff, whoever does it usually does a shitty job and you can either a. see the difference (I have a good eye, even for "blended" paints), and/or b. you can feel the touched up area. I'll be keeping an eye on it, though. It's a perfect car, minus this:(

Looks like dirt under the paint......but I have no idea how this is fixed.

Where is that buddy?
My car also came with white spots in the trunk lid and bumper. Paint didn't adhere for some reason. I'm with you on not getting such small defects repaired; it'd look a thousand times worse indeed. Plus whatever the bodyshop does to your car, which is always something.
Oh, and if you open the doors while seated, a lot of the area you see (where the wires come out of the door and into the car... but not on this car:D) wasn't painted. Same when you open the trunk. And the hood. Looks gray (primer) rather than red. That's one of the reasons why I agree Honda's quality is crap now compared to a decade ago. Take care.

hmm why is it grey but your car is white?

The Honda Factory Spiders have been joined by the paint Gremlins!!!!! :p

Yes, I agree with it being contamination under the paint. I think a sand and repaint is the only option, no amount of polishing will take care of this (you can see what appear to be craters at the top of the peaks). Its along the crease on the door (coupe).

And yes, it looks grey because with full flash it wouldn't turn out properly. If I took it outside, I could take a better pic, but I'm in the confines of my one car townhouse garage:thumbsdow (I adjusted the flash on my SB600 but still can't get the correct lighting...)

Such a shame, the 8th gen' Accord is such a nice package overall in design/styling/amenities, yet small annoy'some issues persist w/ new-owners (mispositioned headlights/taillights scratching the paint, rear-deck rattles, glove-box fitment, wind-sheer noise on misaligned door-windows, etc'). These minor, yet rather noticeable issues shouldn't be present on a vehicle in 2008, in an Accord, in an 8th iteration of the Accord, in a Japanese vehicle, in a vehicle that costs $20k-$30k, etc'.

Though, it makes me wonder about the original poster's exact situation at hand. Not many others, if any, have posted about such a noticeable paint-finish anomaly. I'm thinking it might be plausible that some damage may have occurred in freight-transit, at the port, or en'route to the dealer. Then, they, themselves addressed the minor blemish first-hand, obviously w/o satisfactory results. You never know! I've gotten a past Honda/Acura vehicle, acquired brand-new from the dealer, only to later discover 8-9 months later that the driver-side door's outer-shell had been repainted!

dude... smack some pro-activ on that thing!

Indeed it is a shame. I've been fortunate not to have the taillight chipping, glovebox misalignment, and/or fit-and-finish issues, but the paint things is something I wouldn't tolerate (but I am). So far as I can tell it hasn't been repainted, it is "factory fresh" paint, I just think what another poster said about some dirt or some other contamination getting on the sheetmetal before prime/paint. At least its on the passenger side door so I won't notice it as much. I realize this isn't a "show car" or a $100k car, but its still unacceptable.:thumbsdow

I definitely agree with JC on this one, live with it. I recently had to have my hood and fenders repainted because someone vandalized my car by putting an orange contruction barrel on it, which scratched up the hood. Needless to say, the car will never look right again. There are places where they buffed the new paint, but primer dust got caught in the buffer and scratched the new clear coat and a little area on my headlight. And you think that collection of bumps is bad, I have now got "paint bumps" sporadically spread out over both fenders. Definitely stay away from the body shop, as the factory finish is the best paint job the car will ever have.

no big deal, shit happens to every car, small or big. i doubt a dealer would even attempt to fix anything this small, you cant even see it unless with a magnifying glass. just let it go

could always repaint the whole car and rice it up a little bit. Be the first Yellow Accord! Or Burnt Orange! Or better yet, LIME GREEEEEN.
