Two questions:

Should I push or pull out these plastic plugs where the H used to be if I want to remove them?

Outside of welding, what is the best method for sealing them? They don't need to look the best because I'll be putting something over them. I just need it to be flush and prevent water from entering the trunk holes.

I used small square of white vinyl to cover the hole, so no water gets in.
I cut it as small as possible, and it doesnt look bad especially if you put some type of badging over.

Weld and paint would be ideal but vinyl is cheap

I'll try and post a pic tomorrow

When i removed my front license plate on my black Accord, I filled the holes with bondo and used a touch up brush to match the paint. You can get it smooth enough with a plastic spatula that you don' have to sand it but paint will still stick better than other materials.

You might need to work from the backside to push the plugs out or you are risking damage the paint, which is crucial to prevent rust.

"welding"? never! because welding can only be done with bare metal, and weld is ugly and needs extensive sanding and body work to make it look decent. You don't have even 1 welding spot on the outside of your car, and it's not wise to add two.

Stick some aluminum tape (Home A/C sealing tape) on the back side of the holes, then fill the hole with RTV silicone, then you are good to go to put your own stuff over.

If accessing the back is hard, I would cut the plugs flush with a razer blade (tape and mask the surrounding paint well), the smear some RTV silicone.

I covered the holes with small cut of pearl white vinyl and it works
Nice job. I was thinking of getting this same emblem, it really gives the car a nice unique touch. I love it man. Oh by the way, can you post or DM me the place you bought it from. I saw it on ebay but want to know where you got yours

Anyone have a link to some quality pearl white vinyl? I think I might give that a try.

I'm going to attempt to remove the plastic plugs from the inside of the trunk and also put some backing over the holes from the inside as well as someone suggested.
