I can only lock my doors manually by pushing the pins down. For some reason the doors will NOT lock with the key fob OR with the door switches. No problems unlocking doors and trunk! Locking is the problem.
Its almost as if a door is open somewhere, but none of my doors are open. all the door light plungers are working, tested. And the trunk is definitely locked. Yet no sound when I try to lock from fob or door switch.
I searched, but everyone has issues with both lock and unlock at the same time or some combo. This is weirder.
Whats up with that? :)

Sounds to me like the driver's door actuater because I believe that needs to function correctly for all doors to function correctly. It's not an expensive part.

It might be this, Honda Part No.: 35760-SDA-A21
Switch Assy., Power Window Sub & Door Lock
$46

Check door lock related fuses first.

Checked fuse, its fine, replaced it with a new just for the hell of it. Its a big 20amp and the unlocking action works so I didnt think it would be the fuse.
The locking action with the switches on the drivers door and the front passenger door do not work, but unlocking action works like its always done. Same thing goes with the key fob.
Just complete silence when trying to lock.

I was thinking it was a problem with the drivers assembly, but the passenger lock switch does the same thing. I'll go with the drivers actuator first, i'll see if that fixes it and report back. I'll check out the drivers assembly and harness while the door card is out and see if anything.

Ok door actuator checked out. I unplugged the old one while it was still in the door and connected another one to it...same issue. Door switch also checks out.

Soo all thats left is the damn MICU, which is basically replacing the whole interior fuse box...part# 38200-SDA-A02....might have to buy new :(

Before you condemn the MICU, be sure there is nothing added to your electrical system that may create interference. Things like cheap phone chargers, alarms, and cheap HID, and LED bulbs can cause issues with the MICU communications.

This sounds to me like it might be a faulty "safety" interlock. Like it's not letting you lock the doors because it thinks one of the doors is still open? I know my key fob won't lock the doors when one of them is still open. Maybe one of your door-closed switches is bad? Is your dome light turning on and off properly with all doors? (Although at least my car will let me lock the doors from the driver's door control even when the driver's door is open.) Just another thought.

Yeah I checked that. Closed every door one by one including the trunk. Light comes on and goes off as normal :)

I can set the security on even with all the door locks pins open. So the doors are unlocked and I can hit the fob twice and get a horn as if the doors are secure.

Its really driving me nuts. If other things were failing like the unlock or the windows or trunk release I would have a better sense of what the problem is. But its just the locking thats dead, thats it.

Watch this video, it was on a 2004 Honda Ody but the troubleshooting is the same.

Ok reporting back. We finally got some good weather here in NY for memorial day weekend. On a trip down to Baltimore earlier I picked up a used MICU fuse box for dirt cheap at a U-PULL IT. Replaced it and I can report that it has fixed my locking issue. Hallelujah lol ?
If you go to a junk yard, bring something to cut the wires don't bother popping the connectors or you'll go mad, that's a job you want to do only once believe me!
Also you want a fuse box from a car with same or more options than your car. I had an SE so any thing above that was good. Anyway hope this helps. Oh and I can't emphasize enough what a pain it was to swap lol

Yal,

I have the same issue that you resolved by replacing your MICU. I too went to a Pull-A-Part and was able to snag a MICU from an accord that was optioned better than mine. I swapped the unit but the immobilizer wont let the car start. Did you reprogram your MICU for your key or did you go to the dealer for them to take care of it?

There was no need for me to reprogram the micu. Im pretty sure the immobilizer chip receiver is located somewhere else and is part of the ECU/PCM. Did you swap out all the fuses and match the fuses to your car. You cant just slap on the new/used micu. Make usre all the fuses are correct and and have the same fuse values of the old micu.
