I just bought my new 2016 EX-L sedan last Saturday, and I was admiring the trim on the driver's side door. When I pushed against it, it felt loose. Is this typical, or should I take it for service? Should it have play in it like that, or should it feel tight against the door? The dealership I bought it from is a good 40-minute drive from my house. I don't know if it's worth driving up there or not.

Mine is nearly new, and the first thing I noticed is the horrible creaking sound when I push on the upper driver and passenger door panel, right near the horizontal area where the panel meets the window. Not sure if this is the same issue you have, but I'll mention it to my dealer next time, and I'll check out one in the showroom to see if it does the same thing.

Thanks for your reply. Not a creaking sound so much as it just feels loose. I guess I wasn't expecting it to feel sort of hollow like that.

It's normal. Some quality CCF will help with rattles and tighten that up. Better yet, put MLV on while you're in there.

1. Remove door panel
2. Remove door water barrier and all the other crap on there
3. Trace some cardboard or hold the ccf up to the door and trace the outline (leave .5" or so around the outside for the clips to go back in easily.
4. Install CCF onto door sheet metal, then a layer of MLV atop that.
*** If you want you can do another layer of CCF on top of the MLV (mlv sandwiched with CCF)
5. Install door panel back on. Should be very snug and a good bit more quiet on the inside (and outside technically).

The door panels on the 9G are especially thin and do flex quite a bit, but every Accord I've ever had (6th, 7th, and 8th gens) have been that way to some degree. At least the door panels don't flex much if at all when raising and lowering the windows. My 6th gen's door panels would pop in and out a good bit whenever I lowered or raised the windows LOL.
