About a year and a half ago I had all my door seals replaced under warranty because they shrunk (even if you took them out and reinstalled proper, they are still too short). Ever since, I've been treating the replacement with gummi-flege to keep the rubber from drying out. Now they shrunk again!

Anyway experience this? I dont know if color makes a different but mine is interior gray.

I had an issue where the rubber lining at the top of the door came off and started hanging, which in turn dragged the whole thing off the door edge eventually due to gravity. When I took my car in for an oil change, the resident "Honda guru" showed me that if you pinch the rubber the right way when attaching it to the thin metal dotted portion shown in the picture you posted, it'll stay put without any sort of adhesive. I don't know if this helps you, and I apologize for not explaining it better, but that was my encounter with the rubber lining.

I had the same problem on my 08 Accord - the gray seals on the inside were all pulling away from the frames of the doors. First noticed it on the bottom threshold of the drivers door once the car was just over a year old. Then several months later noticed that the top corners of the gasket (close to where the seat belts meet car's frame) were all pulling away and had from 1/4in-1in gap. I also had the gray interior, in my 2011 I also have the gray interior and noticed that the door seals are a different color (possible material change??) I've read about several other 08 Accord owners with the same problem.

I am out of ideas. Maybe if I get the black interior one, the black color is better resistance to UV? Don't know.

Hate to have to buy another set again.
But I wonder if the 2011 one had redesign seals.

EDIT: 2011 have same part number as 2008 =(

I noticed this same issue just a few days ago.
My interior is black btw

I think it may have to do with the body / weld structuring rather than the rubber
Maybe, but for sure the rubber has shrunk. There is no longer enough length to go all around (even with someone helping me hold them tight to the frame as i route it around).

Oh great, thanks for showing me yet another problem with this piece of %*@$# 8th Gen Accord. I read this thread a couple of days ago, and while cleaning it today I took a look, and yep the seals on the rear doors are pulling away from the frame just like the picture you posted. Pretty said that they can't even get that right.

Go to your Honda dealer and buy a tube of Shin Etsu lubricant. It is the factory lubricant useds on door hinges, moonroof mechanisms, door and trunk sashes, and anything else. It's the white grease you see on all the moving parts. Honda uses this lubricant on EVERYTHING, and it is safe and effictive on rubber seals. I bought some a few years ago when I had my Prelude and the moonroof started to rattle. Throughout the conversation he mentioned I should put some on my door seals to keep them nice. I did and when I sold the Prelude with 220,000 miles on it the door seals were still perfect.

It's the best stuff on the planet, which would explain why it's expensive.

I don't think its the sealing rubber part that shrunk but rather the "hard" rubber part that attached to the frame. I use 1Z Gummi Pflege every couple of months so I am sure it's not due to my neglect.

You should try pinching the inner channel together like mentioned in a earlier post. I tried that around the whole seal and now it's back to normal.
Thanks for your advice. But the problem I am having is there isn't "enough" rubber to go around the frame. They do attach properly.

By the way, to replace the rear seals are a pain. You have to remove the rear seat to remove the plastic cover holding down the seal on the floor. No something I am up for.

X2. I'm on it now for both my cars. Heard great things from S2000 & Odyssey guys who live with this stuff. Maybe I can offer a review 10 years from now. As for right now, I can't tell if it's effective or not.

$15 shipped. It may be expensive for a grease, but not expensive when you think one tube should last 10 years IMO. I do it every 6-8 months, and try not to cake it on or go nuts. But I do go thicker on the stretched parts you guys are talking about. It does look like it's about to bust.
