The pillar there the front seat belts are. The Door seals on the top corners seem to have come loose (not dangling but dont seem to be fully attached). This is all 4 door seals. Anyone have this problem? I am talking about the seals that are attached to the chassis itself.

I just discovered this problem on Saturday when I was cleaning my door sills. I am just as curious as you are whether other people have this problem or not. They are not hanging down just like Shadow said, but they are clearly not perfectly attached to the "frame" for lack of a better term. Should this be something that the dealer looks at while it is still under warranty, or is it normal. There are no leaks into the cabin, it just seems ironic. Let me know

It almost seems like the seal is too small (maybe by an inch or two). I hope this is not an example of Honda sacrificing quality.
Yes exactly. There doesnt seem to be enough length. The grooves on the corner where the strip is suppose to be is exposed (most noticable from the outside).

I have the same problem. I've talked to 2 dealers when I was in for an oil change and they basically said nothing they will do about it. It bothered me for months but now I don't care anymore. Too many little things that honda overlooked, at least it's not a major problem.

My car just came back from dealer with same issue, among others. :thumbsdown

yes, apparently "some" 08's did come with "just" short of what is needed. i got replaced, all four of them, under warranty. i didn't know about it, until i brought it in, my service advisor knew about it. one of mine started to come loose on hot days and doors were getting closed.

This happened with my '08 cpe. Randomly I noticed that the weather stripping at the corner was off, and it almost felt like it was too short to even stretch to the corner. I went to the local dealer ( I had purchased from carmax originally), and they had no problem replacing it at no charge as the car was still under warranty. No questions asked, they just had to order the parts.

Working for Honda I see this problem a lot. The chances of the seal being too short is very slim. 98% of the time it's because it wasn't installed right and if reinstalled right it fixes the problem. You might have to squeeze (a little) the channel together in a few area to form it back in shape.

The seal is very hard to stall because you can manipulate it a lot because it stretches and compresses so much. The best thing to do is try and fix it yourself first cause I doubt the dealer will fix it right.

Remove the step garnish then the entire seal. Then check the open seal and make sure the inside channel is the same throughout. If not give a small squeeze. Start at the corner and you should see a mark on the body and one on the seal if you pull back the corner. Now just slowly work your way around the door opening, never push or pull the seal as you set it. If done right you should have no extra or be short. It might take a few times to get it right.

Went to the Service Center today. They tried to reinstall it but they werent satisfied. They are ordering replacements for all doors. Hope the new ones will be perfect fit.

They come from the factory not-glued on. In fact for some Honda accessory installs, you partially pull them off & then put them back on (see Hands free link install steps 10-13, 18, & 21 - instructions at http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=32910. It may have something to do with allowing the side curtain airbags to deploy?

However, if they're not aligned or loose - try putting them back on. If there's a "bulge" and a "tight spot", then run your hand around the circumference to work the bulge into the tight spot. It worked for me during my install of that accessory.

I had the same problem, got an appointment with a local dealer, they verified the issue, ordered a new seal and I came back a couple of weeks later toreplace it. No problems since then. Now it fits perfect with the door frame and doesn't pop out of place.

I had the same problem, noticed it mid winter earlier this year when I was cleaning the car. Took it to the dealer, they realigned and its been good ever since. Never had any problems with leaks etc. Dealer commented that its a frequent issue with the 08's at least.

all you have to do is pinch the strip, it has metal strips inside that hold it on the body of the car. why are people so lazy today to do anything themselves? waste of time going to the dealer
