First pics is official from honda.com and second one is mine.Am I really missing the plastic cover on my LX-P ?
I believe this not an option. There is no "bolt on" place on mine.I am pretty sure you have to buy an EX to get the cover. If you really want it...I'm sure you can get one from your dealer or on ebay if you are patient.
Thanks for the info :thmsup:I found the thread. I had mentioned this a couple of months ago and got this response:
my LX 2.4 has engine cover but it depends on emission type, the Calif PZEV has cover and the ULEV-2 doesn't, there info from Honda to dealers to not order cover on ULEV-2 as was not meant to have one.
You would really base your decision to buy a car based on a plastic engine cover? Geez, just take the cover off if you're really worriedMy own personal feeling on the covers long term is that they are bad to have. The reason is you will never see the valve cover gasket leaking until you have a good amount of oil all over your engine. I won't buy any car which has the entire bay in plastic covering like the TL does.
LX/LX-P are missing strut tower brace , also you can not just buy the OEM brace as the studs from the strut top mounts are missing the mounting studs.I also cannot see a sway bar in the engine bay. Are you missing that as well?
Here's an anti sway bar:I also cannot see a sway bar in the engine bay. Are you missing that as well?
Well that's just me. I run my cars to the ground and I've seen things happen on my Integra to know what to look for. The cars that I would be worried to pull the plastic off of, are cars like the TL. I wonder if removing the covers will somehow damage a component long-term.You would really base your decision to buy a car based on a plastic engine cover?
