hey guys...new member here but not new to Hondas. Bought my '08 EX-L coupe 6-6 in December and have loved it.

I noticed today that my driverside seat warmer won't turn off. When I put it on high it works like normal as does when I put it on low. But, when I turn it off the seat stays warm (not high). This only happens on the driverside. I pulled the fuse so it is not an issue at the moment, but I would like to get it resolved. Is it a simple fix as the switch being bad or a relay? The warmers work so it isn't an issue of a bad heater...at least I do not think.

any help would be great.

Bad switch, remove and replace.
Not necessarily.

On modern cars 99% of anything that has a switch actually goes through a computer. The relays for the seat warmer are most likely electronic relays on a computer board, not mechanical old fashioned relays. I know the headlamp system in the Accord it like that now.

It could very well be anything BUT the switch. That's why you don't jump to conclusions when repairing modern cars.

If one were to troubleshoot this on their own they MUST have the factory electronic service manuals. There's a thousand dollars worth of computer parts just in the driver's seat heater circuit.

Appreciate the reply...I usually do my own work though so I wold like to know for my own benefit. So let's say I am out of the warranty period. What is the fix? Anyone have a factory service manual?
You could just ask the service technician. Just trying to point out another resource.

just wanted to add that during my drive into work that the driver seat definitely was getting heated! How could this be when I yanked the fuse?

1st - Are you sure it is not getting warm just from you sitting on it? You might not be used to leather seats in warm weather.
2nd - is the LED on the switch lit?

Which fuse did you pull? Driver side fuse 16 is for the controls driving the switch and relays. Passenger side fuse 19 for the heat itself.

Note there is no computer involved, just the switch and two relays for each seat. Relays mounted under the seats.

1. The seat is definitely getting warm on the bottom and the backpad. The temperature wasn't above 50 this morning and I noticed the heat.
2. The switch is off

I pulled fuse #19 in the passenger side fuse box. Should I have pulled 16?

Maybe I should unplug the relay from under the seat?

If you pulled 19 on the passenger side and you still get heat then you've got a modified car. Fuse 19 is where the heat comes from.

16 on the driver's side controls the led light and the relays. Also A/C, power windows, and other stuff.

I just confirmed that with fuse 19 pulled driver seat is warm and passenger on high does nothing. When 19 is put back in the passenger seat gets warm again.

I have a 2011 EX Coupe and have the same excat problem. Since the last post in this thread was some months ago, what was the resolution? What did the dealer do to fix it?
Might be something to do with your excat.
