Hate to post this, but...

I saw a post last week and spent an hour searching for it this morning... fail on my part I know.

Someone did a good review on some 2oz cleaner for $50 that involved taping, buffing, and had a 3 year warranty for the product... all of these keywords I used in advance search and didn't turn up anything of use.

Anyone recall where this post was or what the product was called?

Here you go!

Restored my roof trim today.

I hate black molding anywhere on a car - especially if the molding is the kind of plastic/polymer material the roof trim is made out of on our cars. Even regular waxing doesn't keep it from showing how faded and dull it becomes over time. Add to that the Arizona sun beating down on it for the past 12 years and it really becomes an eye sore.

I was given a sample of a new product called Trim Magic made by Insta Finish. I use many of their products on a daily basis and have always been happy with the results I achieve with them. I assumed this new product would be on par with the quality and end results with the other stuff I've used of theirs. And, when everything was said and done, I was more than satisfied with the results. The best part of all is that the treatment is meant to last for 3 years! I guess we'll see.

Thank you kindly!

Did you find what you were looking for? If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. That's good stuff and well worth the money in my opinion.

Yes sir. Will definitely be ordering some for spring cleaning. Appreciate the review and recommendation on it.

Here, let me DA Search that for you :)

Search function only has the ability to take you to the correct thread, not the correct page of the thread (always what I hated about it...) but it was in the overly-chatted "What did you do to your 7th Gen today?" thread - only two pages back so just this time Carter...

Your best bet is to use Google which'll actually find and take you to the correct page

Steve, what exactly is that 3 year Warranty? will they send you out more of the product if it doesn't last 3 years? partially cover the cost for the new part replacement w/a receipt?

wonder how strongly they stand by this 3 year Warranty

That's a good question. I haven't actually read the warranty claims. I was just going by what the rep told me. I know the company, Insta Finish, is huge and stands by their products and their reputation so I wouldn't think there would be any problem should someone have a problem with any of their products.

Ordered, thanks Coach!

I think when I do it I'll probably end up pulling the trimmings off where I can and doing on a table to save from taping and chancing getting any product on the paint.

I read all the literature the rep gave me as well as everythig written on the website regarding a warranty and while it doesn't specifically state 3 years, it does describe it as being a "permanent solution to faded trim" and "results that last for years". I think the rep may have used the number as a selling point. In his defense, I can say this stuff will most definitely hold up for a good long time. I've washed my car twice since I applied it and there isn't the slightest difference between when I applied it and today. I'll definitely post a follow-up in the coming months once the Arizona sun has some time to beat down on it. Stay tuned...

Suit yourself but I think when you see how fast the stuff applies, you'll realize that's a lot of unnecessary work. Just sayin...

Make absolutely sure you prep the areas well (see my post regarding prep). And most importantly, make sure you apply it with a 100% lint-free cloth. I recommend cutting a thin microfiber cloth into quarters and using one of them. Wear gloves and do it in an area that's well ventilated - the stuff is very strong. VOC compliant?? Yeah, right! :lmao:
Wipe the stuff on in one continuous direction. Don't swipe back and forth. and by God, make sure you take pics and share, share, share! :D

Advice on not removing trim... Rgr, will just do on the car per your recommendation if it's that fast.

Will be printing up your post and following to a T, as well as your advice in this post. Yours came out great and while I'm not overly faded, want the same results. My brother has a Nitro (yuck) that has tons of faded trim, so he'll be getting a bottle for his birthday.

Will definitely take some befores and afters to share
