Price? I want to go this route myself!
This is the Ebay seller I dealt with. Blacklabtire1. I bought the tire, jack, and lug wrench from him for the same price. I then ordered the holdown bolt, spacer, and tool box(from dealer). The whole thing cost me ~365.00.

Blacklab tire was able to get me a T135/90D-17 tire when I contacted him on Ebay. That tire more closely matches the 19" wheel/tire on my Touring.

Send him a message on Ebay, and ask for what you want. He was great and shipped quickly.

Wait, there is an OEM solutions but Honda simply cheaped out? It's a shame the industry is heading in this direction.
The lower trim (non-hybrids) get a spare. On the CR-V, this makes sense, as the hybrid battery is literally in the spare tire well. On the Accord, the hybrid battery is under the rear seat, so there's no reason not to have a spare tire. This has to be one of the dumbest things Honda has ever done.

I bought my own spare tire kit from EZ Spare. It has already served me one time when I got off work to a flat tire that the pump could not do anything to help.

I paid a total of $380.28 for everything. That includes $25 extra for the bag that unfortunately, I am not even using. So, if I did not buy the bag, my cost would be less by $25.

My spare tire is bigger than the oem donut spare. My spare is actually closer to the oem tire size.

My feeling is: That all car manufacturers will probably go the "no spare" tire route eventually. It costs them something to put one in, it takes up space, and it is rarely used by customers. So I suspect the higher ups in auto companies see it as a cost savings measure and a design improvement. Probably, for the majority of Americans, they are likely right. I'm sure many would not know how to install a spare tire if they got a flat, but they COULD inflate one using the inflator in the kit if the damage was not too bad. Like many of you though, I like a spare, so I'm glad I was able to put one in.

I posted about this awhile back too....OEMs now assume that everyone needs to take their cars into their nearest official Honda service center even to change the air filters. I agree with you that many people probably would rather call AAA and get a tow to their nearest tire shop than try to change a flat tire, and you're right...there probably is a better shot that the average Joe or Jane can attach the slimer to their valve stem and reinflate the tire to then get it to the tire shop. Downside, as we all know, is that probably nukes the tire from being fixed as many shops don't want to deal with a slimed tire. But yeah, there is a significant expense to equip every vehicle with a metal wheel, tire, jack, etc when 1) most people will never actually get a flat in the first place and 2) some decent % of those who do may not even use the spare. I would also guess some decent % of people who did try to use their spare may smack themselves in the forehead when they realize they never checked the inflation since they got the car 6 years ago, and now the spare is super low pressure too.

In the meantime, everyone would be driving around with an extra 50 pounds of stuff in their trunk if all cars came with spares. So I do have some sympathy from a society/efficiency standpoint.

That said, I did get myself a spare here because I could actually change the tire need be.

It's been headed that way since the 2010 bailouts.

My 2015 Hyundai already omitted the spare donut, and provided in place a small 12v inflator pump.

It's good that both the Elantra and the 11th gen Accord still have the cutout/cavity for a spare, should the owner decide to acquire their own.

Presto chango for my 2023 Touring.

when I look up the Box part number it says it wont fit my 2022 Accord Hybrid EXL. Says it’s for the 18-20 model years. Did you find something different?

I found that it fit in my 2023 Touring. I used Art’s parts numbers — he’s in Canada, so there are differences, obviously.

My pricing was at the dealer, so no shipping charges. How about yours?

I'm pretty sure the spare tire well is the same between the 10th, and 11th generations. It also says the 84542-TVA-A10 won't fit my 2023, but it does. The tool box fits the tire more so than the well. I believe the A10 fits 17" spares, and the A00 fits the 16" spares

I just bought the 17 inch spare and jack on eBay for 269.00
I fit the spare, jack and tire pump in the well and covered it just fine. Is the styrofoam cover flat on the bottom? I may order one next time I’m near a dealer. What year accord would it come from to fit?

You don’t need to know what year Accord it fits. 84542-TVA-A10 is the part # for the 17” spares. Honda calls it a “Tool Box”. What you call a styrofoam cover. It fits a lot of earlier Accords.

I posted this a few weeks ago in another Gen 11 spare tire thread:

Picked up the deal of the day at the local LKQ lot.
I had setup an email notification for the 10th gen accord and when the local LKQ got one in route they send you the details.
I got the email and went early this morning to check out the spare tire and trunk mat status.
I picked up the 135 80 17 spare, the hold down screw assembly, foam tray with the jack, lug wrench, funnel and an Accord trunk mat.

Brought it all home and took out the orginal foam tray from my 2023 Hybrid Sport L. Dropped in the 10th gen setup and everything fit perfectly.
Best part about it was I only spend $107 with tax.

I had more money than time -- my wife wanted to start using the Touring for more frequent visits without me (when I'm working) to our daughter's home 1 1/4 hours away and I wanted to remove one complication (not that she'd personally be changing the tire; we have AAA.) Her Lexus LS 430 gets 22mpg, half that of the Touring.

(Our daughter gave birth to a boy May 4, the day our son's boy went home from NICU after being born 12.1 weeks early -- our first two grandchildren.)

I have the Hybrid Touring.

Sorry I'm lazy, but does anyone know if the kit suggested here will work with a 19" spare and if it will fit in the tire well?

Has anyone done this with a 19"?
