I'm almost at 40,000 miles with my 2013 EX-L V6 Sedan, so I thought I'd write a follow-up post to my 20K mile review:

http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/86-9th-generation/300417-2013-accord-ex-l-v6-two-year-review.html

I've had no major issues with the vehicle since I took delivery in 2013. The engine and transmission have been flawless. The vehicle still looks brand new inside and out. I'm averaging 24MPG in mixed driving.

The front brake pads have been replaced; and I'm driving on four newer Michelin Primacy tires (which is a GREAT OEM tire). The tire replacement has been due to "road hazards" (i.e. nails, etc.).

The transmission fluid was replaced at 30K, and I get oil changes based on the maintenance minder. All service, except for the brakes, has been performed at the dealership.

There isn't an interior rattle or squeak to be found. The car is very quiet and has excellent road manners. I did have an annoying squeak sound from the driver's side seat belt latch (right side near the floor) -- I thought it was a problem with the seat. A squirt of WD40 did the trick and it's been silent ever since.

The car does not burn oil, although I did have to top it off a few times during the first 2K miles -- it hasn't been an issue since then.

I took the photos yesterday after a wash and an application of Armor All tire foam.

Moving Forward...

With strong rumors of the V6 being replaced with a turbo 4, I'm undecided whether I should pull the trigger on a 2017 V6.

I would purchase an EX-L V6 Sedan with navigation and Honda Sensing. I'm not interested in the 19" wheels on the touring. And, while I'm likely in the minority here, I really do like the looks of the 17" sawblade wheels.

There are a few creature comforts on the 2017 that I'd like to have: remote start; outstanding Garmin GPS; Apple CarPlay; HD Radio; full Honda Sensing suite (I have FCW & LDW).

If I trade in my 2013, I would miss the volume and tuning knobs, as well as the matte-finish on the dash and shifter area.

So, I need to decide if I should keep my current vehicle, or pull the trigger on a 2017. Any advice?

If the current car is going great, why not keep it?

You would take a loss on selling it and a tax hit on buying a new one. Its really your call, but I'm one of those types who doesn't change a car very often.

^^^ My sentiments exactly. That's a beautiful Accord you have, with only 40k miles? 10k miles per year? Keep it!!!!

No rattles or squeaks? All the things that rattle and squeak already fell off, then? :devil

You will have the time to pull the trigger if you will want to do so, when 10th gen is announced. Then you will know. And dealers will be even more interested in making you a deal.

When you crunch the numbers, will a car 4 year old car with 40k miles be worth x dollars out of your pocket for an almost exact, current replacement with 0 miles? Although you could probably get a new one for 26,500 who knows how much lower the trade in will be on your 2013. Besides, your car has been flawless, no guarantees with new stuff. Trade in value will probably be in the 13-15k range which is probably in the range of what you will owe on a 2017. So is it worth it to buy a brand new version of the exact same car for 13-15k assuming 30k otd price on a new one. It's your decision.

If the new Camry gets great reviews, IMO that takes all the pressure off of having to get the last of the 2017's. We know the new Camry will be smooth and have a V6. Personally, I would just keep the 2013. It might look a little dated on the outside but mechanically, it's a gem. Your will have the timing belt coming in about 3 years so figure a 1k expense into your decision making.

My 2013 Accord Coupe I4 has almost the exact same milaige. I also have had no major issues and I follow the maintenance minder for service. I have not changed the brake pads nor the transmission fluid. The only rattle in the interior is the lid on the center console. Last week I replaced the original battery, Everything else has worked flawlessly. I'm hoping this car will last as long as its predecessor which lasted 16 years and 175.000 miles. I would probably still be driving it except I gave it to my teenage son who was involved in an accident that totaled the car in 2013.

BTW With all the consternation about the CVT transmission on this forum, mine has performed flawlessly without having the TSB accomplished.

2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6, 70k Miles

Hello! I'd recommend keeping it too. You'll get a huge break on having to place more money out of your wallet. This is also my first car I'm owning and cannot see myself getting rid of it for a long time. I have the same car as you except with 70,000+ miles. Still works like a champ except for a few squeaks here and there in the car. Keep it! You'll just keep wanting the latest and greatest as Honda keeps releasing a cooler accord every 3-4 years.

This is my Accord after I washed it yesterday after a month of it getting dirty.

I agree its all your decision, just so give you perspective on my quick stop at dealer for 17 Touring. They offered me $16k for my 15 EX-L I4 @30k miles against $30k OTD for 17 Touring.

Now, i don't have any issue with my car at all, i mean i have lowered it, new wheels and many mods that i have done. however, I'm missing Navigation and all the new Touring option but i can by pass those for now. I'm hoping to keep this car for next few years and see what's 10th Gen has to offer.
