Does anyone else have this issue? I press slowly all the way down on the fuel lid release, does not open. Press a few more times, does not open. I can hear something trying to happen by the fuel door though like the pin retracting. I wait a few seconds, try again and it works. Or sometimes I will have ot rock it back and forth on the switch (which pops open the trunk too).

Once open I can open and close it 100x no problem in a row, but just after it has not been opened for a few days it seems to always stick on the first attempt.

Anyone else have this? My dealership can't figure it out although they've been great in trying, tried lubing the little pin, tried adjusting the cable... then replaced the whole cable, still can't figure out why it is...
:thumbsdow

I have to jab the fuel door button on my 99 Accord. On my 96 Accord I have to tug up over and over, sometimes wedge something inbetween the door and the car body to put pressure as I open it.

Not fun!

Hopefully yours will workout..

I have the same problem, along with the sticking door handles.

yea door handles are annoying now

yeah... its a common prob.. i took mine to the dealer.. and they said its just the way the latch was designed.. ... then they gave me a bullshit reason like its a theft deterant feature... so they cant fill up gas.. and etc... i laughed soo hard and asked the service desk if they were on crack.......

Many Coupe owners have reported this, myself included. I tried bending the catch back on the filler door and that seemed to work. The door would pop open more often but it woudl still stick.

At your next oil change mention it to the dealer. They should be able to adjust it. Mine pops open with no problem now.

In our gen 6 Accord I have never had any problems with this. On my sister's gen 8 I have to almost slam the lever all the way down to get it to open. It is the way it is designed and in my book is a defect in their engineering.

Its been happening to me on my 08 Coupe since my FIRST fillup (in July), but I haven't had a chance to take it to the dealer yet...I've found that if you press on the door a couple of times before trying to open it with the lever, then it opens on tries 1-3...otherwise I have to do it upwards of 10 times to actually get it open

definately an engineering defect!:thumbsdow

lol... i remember when it first happened to me, i thought it was a safety thing because i was still sitting in my seat... but i got out and tried to do it.. and it opened... but i guess it is a defect

I prefer 2 levers, like my old '90 coupe.
I thought something was wrong with my fuel door because it didn't open, until I realized I had to push the darn thing WAAAAAAY down. Still feels awkward, but hasn't failed to open so far. The trunk takes no effort. Not a good design for sure.

The stupid thing is my EX-L has an electric trunk opener for the keyfob, so why the hell not a switch for the trunk and a (pull) lever just for the gas:dunno:?
Later.

I thought that I was just not pressing hard enough. I didn't realize that it was a problem until you guys mentioned it. Thanks!!

I can`t help with the fuel door but I can help with your door handle needing a little more force than it should. Its not the door pull , its the silver latch in the door frame that needs a little tweek. Had 3 0f 4 adjusted last week , all is well.
