I keep checking Google functions in my car, and they continue to work perfectly. I never signed up for anything AT&T. I have an unlimited everything plan with Verizon.
Are you using the Verizon plan WiFi connection in your car?

I always have Wi-Fi enabled on my phone. Never looked in settings if it is actually hooked up to the car, but everything works.

Turn phone off or leave in the house. Then try to use Google functions. Like others have said that are having the problem, they bought ATT Wi-Fi and then Google worked.

Also, I read if you are using WiFi from phone, it apparently doesn't allow phone to connect wirelessly, requires connection via USB. That's message I got on infotainment screen when trying to get WiFi connection in car.

I'll try it next time I am in the car.

Wi-Fi as well as bluetooth is always enabled on my phone. The wireless Apple Car Play works without a USB connection, and it signs me into my Google Account as soon as I start the car.

That info from Honda is very, misleading, IMHO. ...
I see that this information from Honda about the requirements for using Google Built-in and Alexa is very precise.
Read again.
The question is whether Larry has Personal Hotspot (tethering) set up on his iPhone. Only then can Google Built-in alternatively use his Verizon service instead of free service from AT&T for 3 years. Why not?
(My cell plan doesn't allow me to turn on tethering or hotspot on my phone)

I do in fact have a personal hot spot with my plan. I have never set it up with the car, but have used it before with my laptop. Shutting my phone off should answer the question on whether I am actually running off the AT&T network. Google assistant and MAPS have worked flawlessly since I left the dealer lot in May of 2023.

This is not enough. First, you need to make sure that Personal Hotspot is on, even if it has been enabled in the settings.
On my iPhone, the Hotspot turns off if nothing is connected to it (to save battery). Hotspot does not turn off on Android phones.
It is obvious that there must be a setting in the car where the system is to be connected.

So reading it AGAIN as you are directing, maybe it's "very precise" to you than me.

This indicates that Google Built-in REQUIRES AT&T or personal device TETHERED!

Since I DO NOT have AT&T plan, and do not use my device tethered, and do not have WiFi or Hotspot setup using my personal device...then I shouldn't be able to connect according to Honda.

Just checked my car and everything is working again. Network is connected, Google working.

Yesterday, I turned my phone off before getting in the car. When I started the car, I did have Google maps, but no assistant and no traffic information with MAPS. When I tried to use google assistant, it said no network connection. When I turned the phone on, it asked me to connect my WIFI to the car to set up Apple Car Play. I did that, but still no network connection, and no GA. This morning, I got in the car and EVERYTHING worked.

That is correct. Apparently, I was on the AT&T network. When the 3 years are up, I'll tether my phone to the car. This video explains it all.

1) when I first got the car, I connected my phone thru wires less CarPlay etc and had no issues

2) I’ve had the car for almost 9 months and the trial for atnt is only for 3 months so why would my Google assistant and everything that worked fine the first 6 months randomly stop after the trial

does turning on the atnt change something ? Can you change the settings back? Honda like always needs to stop avoiding the issue and make a fix cause it’s not making sense.
