It's getting to be summer, which means my, er, backside tends to sweat a lot. I was kind of hoping that someone on here had modified their Accord to add Ventilated/Cooled seats. I've seen some threads where people have added Acura TL seats, but they don't mention the Cooling feature (new TLs come with cooled seats).

I would be really interested in making this my first mod

Integrated heating elements are real easy to add but not so much with cooling rigs, especially if you want them to be effective. Not anywhere as elegant, but the reviews are pretty good on this cold air cushion and cheap! http://www.amazon.com/Truck-Cooling-Electric-Channel-Cushion/dp/B00CQ9ZBTS

And here's another one, this looks much more concealed http://www.amazon.com/Viotek-Tru-Comfort-Climate-Controlled-Cushion/dp/B00K0SCNVG/

I'd probably go with the Viotek but I don't really park my car in the sun so don't have any immediate need. Looks like a solid product. I'd only be concerned about long term reliability as it would be useless if it broke.

I guess this is easier than adding ABS or airbags but it sounds a little crazy. I'd opt for a new car with that feature.

Have the cooled seats on my 12 MDX. Its actually a pretty neat feature.

I can live without, but certainly nice to have.

Esp after a good sweaty workout at the gym and stepping into a stifling hot vehicle.

I have cooled seats that can be controlled by the AC or manually. I have to be honest with you, its a waste of money unless you have some particular sweating health issues. Once the coupe gets comfortably cool I never stick to the seats anyway.

How about a super cheap cloth seat cover from a local auto parts store, cut a big hole in side for airbag. Will get you through the Summer months.

just a thought.

Nice visual. Your gym doesn't have showers?

Your car is my hero. I would LOVE to have cooled seats and I live in a relatively temperate state (WA). Honda has some strange fascination with black. My car has a black interior that even today, when the outside temperature was 68 degrees resulted in an interior temp of 90 degrees (measured at about driver's head height using a calibrated Fluke 287). The temperature of the dashboard surface - what's that called anyway, the front deck? was 127 degrees using a calibrated Fluke 568. What will it be when it's 90 outside?

I grew up in Texas - how can the electronics, much less the people in the car, not melt! It's gotta hit 140 easy inside the car in the summer. Certain surface temps must be much more.

Anyway, I digress. I want my ass cooled, not heated! Attention Honda!

I didn't pay for leather seats to throw some cheap, ugly cover over them. I like how the seats feel, but I'm one of those people that's always hot (like sleep with the ceiling fan on, no covers, while my wife sleeps under three blankets and a comforter).

Anyway, it would be nice to have, but it's not a deal breaker. I know certain people live to mod/tinker and if someone had done this for under $750, I'd be in.

As for buying a TL: :puke: The 3rd Gen was awesome, but the 4th Gen is one of the ugliest cars I've laid eyes on. I owned a 1G TSX and loved it, but decided not to go with a 2G TSX or a 4G TL because of how ugly the snout/beak is (and the TL is ugly from both ends). The TLX is an improvement, but not enough for me to want another Acura.

Maybe my next car will have cooled seats :)
