Has anyone upgraded their shifter bushings on their 6 spd? Any shift around 4500+ and mine will grind second almost guaranteed. It's getting pretty old. Plus if like to take some of the slop and cushion out of the shifter as well. Any suggestions as to what replace and from who? I didn't see anything on energy suspensions website

I have the short shifter and upgraded shift cable bushings from TWM Performnce and love it. The factory shifter was too long and too buttery smooth for my tastes. I also installed Speedfactory shift detent springs for a firmer engagement and disengagement but may be too firm for some. When it warms up here in Ohio, i have some Torco Synchrotech MTF waiting to replace the factory MTF

Chewing up the synchros - that's what you are doing. You need to take a slight hesitation when speed shifting into second, for the synchros to match up correctly. Some have taken the issue back as a warranty claim with success. As noted some have had success with the GM fluid. I've just learned to give that slight pause before slamming 2nd gear.

Not sure how changing bushings in the shifter will help the issue with the grind.

Many people have done the CDV delete to the slave cylinder. Could this help aleiviate the 2nd gear grind? I also starred another thread asking for others’ input regarding the Ktuned clutch master cylinder (CMC) that reads like is would help with the quicker gear grabs. Not sure though....

I agree with everything you’ve said. I lucked out and received a warranty replacement for the 2nd gear/synchros but have since learned to take a pause myself. I haven’t changed any mechanical components yet, but changing some Ktuner settings such as the OTC did result in smoother shifts. Changing out the MTF also made the shifts more smooth. I used Honda Genuine for the most recent MTF change but as soon as the 60k mark is passed, I will switch to Amsoil and remove that darn delay valve and possibly purchase the TWM short shifter.

No it won't.

I have the Check Valve deleted in the slave, it just helps with the feel of the clutch pedal, making for more consistent shifts, especially at lower rpms.

Sorry to wake a dead thread. But I’m taking my ‘16 accord 6-6 with 54000 miles into the dealer for not being able to shift into 2nd gear. What did they say? I don’t thrash my car, I’m just worried they’re gonna say that I abused it and won’t cover under warranty.
