The all weather floor mats combined with the pressed trunk liner material they’re using for a carpet these days makes me feel like I’m sitting in a cheap truck. I wish they sold thick carpeted mats that had the same coverage, going up the sides and over the small hump below the back seat area, as the all weather floor mats. I know the rubber/plastic mats are easy to clean, but I want my Accord to feel like a mid class sedan not a cheap contractor pick up truck.

So once it stopped raining I got both of these mats into the car. Cut to the chase, I prefer the "XPE" over the "AIPOIL". While the AIPOIL is thicker and has more side coverage, it feels and looks a little more plastickey, and the edges don't sit as cleanly. The XPE when you get it pressed into the edges looks like it is clean and part of the vehicle.

I actually think I will keep the XPE even over the Aries 3d/Maxpider, because it was $119 instead of $180, and to me it looks very very much like the Aries/Maxpider material on my 2014 Accord. I am waiting to see pictures from Joebxr of the actual Aries in a couple days just to make sure I'm not missing anything. To help others....pix.....

STOCK OEM CARPET MAT. Excuse the dog hair. Dog has never been in this car. Ever. Dog hair on shoes. Dog hair annoys the crap out of me haha. NOTE THE HORRIBLE COVERAGE HERE. The OEM is like, a little bigger than a paper towel haha.
Image

XPE: Clean look. Gives some side coverage and a full "bathtub" of a couple inches all the way around. If you had more than a couple inches of liquid water in there, y'all got bigger problems. Sides butt up cleanly to the car sides.
Image

AIPOIL: More side coverage. Has a similar texture visually, but looks more plasticky. Is more flexible than the XPE so was a little bent in areas. That may lay out over time, who knows. SIDES have gaps and doesn't look as clean fitting to me as XPE

AIPOIL goes further up behind the pedal...
Image

But AIPOIL for some reason doesn't fully cover the dead pedal. If you're gonna be such a large mat it is surprising they stopped there.
Image

XPE, while shorter sides generally, covers the whole dead pedal for a cleaner look IMO
Image

XPE has a nice clean fit in the back too. The AIPOIL has "lines" or "ridges" on that top hump as shown in the earlier pix

A side by side of the XPE vs my 2014 Accord ARIES 3D/Maxpider (yes they need a wash). One thing I note on the ARIES 3D is that foot pad area is actually a second piece that was fused on, and over time it has separated at top and bottom. I THINK the XPE is just the shape molded into the mat so I don't know that there is anything to separate

Picture of the Aries from 2014 Accord....note this one doesn't even go behind the pedal. More dog hair sheesh how much effing hair can a dog shed every damn day. Note also the "separated" foot pad I was talking about above

Hope the above is helpful to all readers and I look forward to seeing some actual pix of the Aries 3D/Maxpider from y'all soon

I'm not sure why TuxMats are not in the running. One person did not like them but I have had good luck with them and the coverage and quality are fantastic IMO.
Everyone has their priorities. Mine was protection and coverage. Looks are way down there on the list, and I'm just not that picky, but that's me. The Tuxmats that I bought are amazing, they cover everything. The dealer gave me the Honda floor liners. I like the "Accord" script on them. They leave a lot to be desired as far as coverage, especially on the driver's front. I put them on top of the Tuxmats, and they fit fine and stay put. Couldn't be happier. Opinions can, and will vary.

I like the side coverage on those. They go right up to the sill cover in the front, but I wish they made them in a carpet material instead of that silly trunk liner crap.

All you need now is some tape to protect the plastic sill covers and PPF or a textured wrap to protect the paint on the rockers.

There is no "in the running"....the two on here that I happened to buy were ones that I thought I would like the look of. I don't love the "ridges" on the Tuxmats (others also noted they looked "reptilian") so I didn't buy those. I am just trying to help other prospective buyers who may be looking at various options by showing real world pictures and my assessment. You are welcome to do same re Tuxmats of course. Thanks

Been looking for rocker protection. Not sure the stick on ones on Amazon are durable enough and won't lift up once installed. Any recommendations?

I was unsure of them too, especially the adhesive on the back. So, I bought some 3M 2080 textured carbon fiber black wrap and made my own. I wanted the texture because the material would be thick and offer good protection. I used a cutting mat, straight edge and a metal washer to make the rounded edge cuts. They came out pretty good.

For anyone who may be interested in the XPE I posted above (very similar to Aries 3D) I just noticed that the price today is only 99.99 (it was 179.99 less 60 instant coupon when I bought).

I was 95% going to keep these vs Aries 3D and I think now at 99.99 I am 100%. I have seen the other pics and while Aries does have a little different shape in some parts, I am having trouble paying almost 2X as much for a very similar mat.
